“I don’t want to go anywhere. I am feeling nauseous and tired.” I complained to Alex, who was helping me in the car.
“That’s what happens when you are pregnant. Now, please, get in. Martha will have my balls if I don’t get you there in time.” Alex pushed me slightly into the passenger seat.
It was Saturday and the day of my party. I was excited until a few days ago when one morning I started to feel sick. I felt like I would puke any moment now, but at the same time, not enough to do that. That might be the worst. Nothing was helping either, so no, I didn’t want to go to the party.
“You’ll get over it.” I mumbled, but he heard.
“No, I won’t. Besides, dad called to inform me that your friend is already there. You wouldn’t want to leave here there alone with all those horny sons of bitches, now would you?” Alex smirked, knowing well that he got me there.
I groaned as we drove to Martha’s house.
It didn’t take us too long. When we pulled up, the whole driveway was filled with cars and motorcycles. Spring was really here, though I thought it was still too cold for bikes.
We got out of the car. The loud music from the inside was heard even here. Alex took my hand in his and led the way.
“There she is! My super-girl!” As soon as Martha saw me, she ran up and brought me in a bone-crushing hug. She might’ve looked small and frail, but in truth, she was anything but that.
“It’s good to see you, too. Thank you for the party.” I hugged her back.
“How else would I get you here? No one even allowed me to come and visit you in the hospital. Those bastards. Not to mention before everything that happened, you didn’t visit me either. What’s with that? Do you not love me? Am I some stranger to you?” There she went again with her lecture.
“I’m sorry. I had a lot going on. Besides, you know you are important to me. You basically are my mother.” I said, and it was the truth. When ever I needed a mother figure, she stepped up.
“I know. I just missed you so damn much. Now come on, everyone is dying to see you.” She took my hand, and we went downstairs to the basement, where a large ballroom was made specially for gang parties.
The music was loud, but not enough for me to have difficulty to hear, what someone was saying to me. There were a lot of people, most of the all the guys wore their cuts, while women were dressed kind of provocable. Nothing new there. I remember when I used to love dressing like that. I loved the look guys gave me when I wore tight leather miniskirt with a skimpy tank top. But since Greg, that changed. He forbid me to wear things like that. I grew out of that phase and now I like to look sexy, but not too much, if that makes sense.
Now I had on simple jeans, biker boots, and a loose knitted sweater. Not sexy, but definitely comfy.
“Look who finally showed up!” Martha suddenly yelled, getting everyone’s attention. “Those of you who don’t know her, this is Amabel Hudson! Daughter of yours, one and only Dominic Hudson! Sister of Alex Hudson! Not to mention our Devil’s little princes!” Finally she finished her “little” introduction. I felt so out-of-place standing there, while everyone was staring and yelling like they just won a million dollars.
“So keep you filthy hands and hungry eyes off her! She is off limits to all of you pussies!” Alex added and some aws were heard.
We went down the whole way and walked to where my dad, Tank and Mount were standing with beers in their hands.
“Look at you, so beautiful and big.” Mount smiled at me and brought me in a hug. “How are you feeling?”
“I’m good as new. Thanks to all of you.” I tightened my hug and then let him go. He had aged since I last saw him.
“Come here, doll,” Tank said and pulled me in a bone-crushing hug. For a moment, I worried he would harm my baby, but before I could say anything, Alex beat me to it.
“Let her go, you giant! You’ll broke her back!” Alex yelled and pulled me gently by his side.
Everyone laughed.
“Sorry doll, forgot how fragile you were,” Tank snickered. I always hated when someone called me fragile.
“Come on, let’s get you something to drink.” Alex took my hand, and we went to the table where different beverages were placed. He quickly finished his beer and then did something. I couldn’t really see what, but soon he turned around and handed me a full beer bottle.
“What the fuck, Alex! You know I can’t drink beer!” I whisper shouted at him.
He rolled his eyes. “I know. This is not beer. I poured you an apple juice in there, so no one would question why you are not drinking.”
“Oh. Thank you,” I said, a little moved by his thoughtfulness.
“No problem. When you need a new one, just come to find me.” He smiled.
“Where are you going?” I asked, taking a sip.
“Just saw something beautiful and alone in the corner right there. I think she would appreciate my company.” Alex smirked, motioning behind my back. When I saw what he meant, I punched his shoulder.
“What was that for!” He asked, confused about my sudden violence.
“You will not go near her. That is Piper. As in my friend Piper.” I glared at him.
“Oh,” Alex said, realizing.
“Yeah, oh. So NO! I do not want you near her. She is nice and again my friend. I don’t want for you to use her or hurt her.” I sighed.
“Alright, but can you introduce me to her? I swear I won’t do anything. I would just like to know here. Sooner or later, you’ll have to do that, anyway.” He asked. I hated he was right.
“If I hear from her that you did something, I’ll break you legs.” I glared and stomped towards Piper, with Alex following close by.
“Amy! God, I missed you!” She smiled, and I hugged her.
“Missed you too. How are you doing?” I asked her.
“Nothing much. I was waiting for you. All these guys are kind of creeping me out. I feel so out of place,” she admitted.
“Don’t worry. No one will do anything. If not, they’ll have to deal with me.” Alex spoke up, making us separate from our hug.
“And you are?” She looked at him with a weird look on her face.
“Alex. Alex Hudson. I am Amabel’s twin brother. It’s a pleasure to meet you,” he said smoothly, taking Piper’s hand in his and kissing the top of it, making her giggle.
“Why have you kept him from me?” Piper asked me, not taking her eyes off of my brother.
What was happening?
