“Stop it! You will kill him! Stop!” I kept screaming from top of my lungs, but Tyler just kept going at Travis. By now, he was a bleeding mess on the ground. He had lost consciousness, but I was praying that not his life.
I couldn’t see clearly as my eyes filled with tears of despair. I was petrified at the sight in front of me.
“I will kill him!” Tyler roared, but I couldn’t let that happen.
I looked around desperately to find something to stop Tyler with. After an agonizingly long time I spotted a large picture frame hanging on the wall little farther from us. I ran and took it off the wall. It was of Stacy. Then I hurried back and without a second thought I brought it down with all my strength over back of Tyler’s head. I succeeded, and he fell off of Travis, who didn’t move. I couldn’t even recognize him anymore.
I kneeled beside him.
“Oh, my God. Please wake up, Travis. Please. I am so, so sorry,” I pleaded. My tears fell down on him, but I couldn’t stop. I was so scared that it was over. That he would never wake up.
“What the fuck?” Finally, someone ran to us. “What happened? Are you alright?” It was my dad.
“Please, help him. He can’t die,” I begged him.
“What happened?” This time it was Grim. He tried to pull Tyler up, but he pushed him away. When he stood up on his own, Tyler tried to come at Travis again, but Grim and Mount pulled him back.
“Stop It! What are you doing?” Grim demanded, but Tyler kept repeating that he was going to kill Travis.
“If you touch him again, I will kill you!” Tank threatened as he checked Travis. By now, it seemed like the whole gang was in the hallway.
“Come here,” Alex pulled me up gently.
“No, I can’t just leave him.” I objected, but Alex didn’t let me go.
“He’ll be fine. Tank and dad will make sure of it. Right now, I have to get you out of here. Think about the baby.” I wanted to protest, but the last sentence made me listen to him.
“Come on, Amy. I’ll help you,” Piper took my other hand and together with Alex, they led me upstairs to a spare bedroom that I used to stay at when I was a kid.
“This is all my fault,” I cried.
“No, listen. This is not yo...” Alex tried to comfort me, but I stopped listening as loud sirens were heard.
I rushed to the window and saw three police cars had stopped on the front lawn. Two armed officers stepped out of each car and rushed inside.
“What is going on?” I asked frantically.
“I’ll be right back. Piper, keep an eye on her.” Alex said, and then turned to me. “No matter what, do not leave this fucking room.” He ordered in a tone that made me listen. Then he rushed out of the room.
“Oh my God.” I fell on my knees and broke down again. Piper came over and hugged me tightly.
“Shh. It will be alright,” she whispered. I could tell she was scared, because I was too.
3rd POV
As the sirens got louder, Grim yelled out: “Who the fuck called the police?”
It was one of the girls that liked to hang out with the gang when they had parties. She was pretty new to this and didn’t know about the rule: no law involvement unless Grim authorizes that. But no one knew it was her. Yet. Grim’s question was a more rhetorical one, but after everything would calm down, he would find out and there would be consequences.
They didn’t really have time to react as Grim and Mount were still trying to keep Animus away from Travis. In no time, police officers armed with guns had rushed inside. It was a chaos. They were trying to push through the crown and when finally succeeded, they pointed their guns at basically everyone.
“Get on the ground with hands where I can see them. Now!” One police officer ordered. Everyone listened. Hudson, Tank, Grim and Mount lied down too. Animus was not so cooperative. So it took three officers to force him down. He was handcuffed immediately.
While one police officer called for an ambulance, another one walked up to Grim.
“What the hell happened here, Grim?” He demanded. He was well acquaintance with Grim, but they were no friends.
“Can I get up? Because I would love to find out myself.” He growled. The police officer nodded with his head.
Grim stood up and looked from Tarvis to Animus, who was still resisting. This was a very complicated situation and a shit load of trouble. He knew, because of the cop’s involvement, there was no way out of this, other than having someone arrested.
He sighed.
“Well?” the police officer impatiently asked.
“Animus!” Grim yelled out to get his stepson’s attention. He succeeded.
Animus glared up at him?
“Explain, now!” Grim demanded.
“I will kill that sone of a bitch for trying to take my woman away from me!” Animus yelled. He was furious and hurt. So hurt.
When he saw Amabel hugging another guy and him kissing her, it felt like his heart was shattered into pieces. He felt betrayed.
“Are you fucking delusional?” This time it was Alex who yelled, coming into the scene. “I might hate the idea of you with my sister, but I know her. She would never cheat on your sorry ass. And Dr. Rakel? He knew about you two and wouldn’t interfere. He is an honorable man! Not to mention smart. He knows what it would mean! Look at him!”
“I saw them! He kissed her!” Animus was not backing down.
“There is probably a good explanation for that! And are you sure that you saw it right? You really think Amabel would let anyone else touch her but you? After everything that happened?” Alex shook his head, disappointed with his best friend. Their friendship was hanging by the thread and Animus was pulling at it harder with every moment.
He stopped fighting. No one would take his side. That much he knew. Who would stand against Devil’s princess, right? So he gave up. In his head, there was no point fighting anymore. His heart was shattered along his dreams about a happy life with a woman he loved.
“Get him out of here.” The officer ordered his colleagues.
The ambulance had arrived as well, and they were taking care of Travis. Tank went with him. Officers took statements from everyone involved. Animus was taken away to the police station.
Martha and Grim followed. They’d give their statements at the station. No matter how disappointed they were with Animus, he was still their son.
While all of this happened, Amabel went to stand by the window when she heard the ambulance arriving. She wanted to see how was Travis. Instead, she saw Animus being taken away in handcuffs by two police officers. When he was seated inside the car, their eyes met for a moment. Amabel’s breath hitched at seeing Tyler’s glossy eyes.
The infamous Tyler “Animus” Rush was crying. And all because of her.
