"You know that's not what I meant, but whatever. Just be a little more patient. Cole will call us in a few hours and then we'll know more." Mike's voice was muffled due to him being outside.

"I just can't stand this shit hole anymore. This is driving me crazy! Every day we spend here gives them an opportunity to find us. We have to leave the country." Greg said. He sounded frustrated. Who wouldn't be? We have been here for 4 days already and there was nothing to do. From what I heard, yesterday's call with that guy Cole didn't go so well either. There were some delays or what not.

"I know, man. But he promised to get us out by tomorrow. Cole always keeps his promises," Mike reasoned.

"He better." Greg growled, and then the door opened.

I didn't jump or move, just laid on the old couch staring at the ceiling. That's basically all I have been doing. Yesterday, Mike took me on a little walk around the cabin while Greg called Cole. That was the only time I was allowed to go outside.

"You up?" Greg asked, sitting down on the couch. I barely had time to bring my legs up, so he wouldn't sit on them.

"It's hard to sleep when you are yelling most of the time," I mumbled.

"Funny," he said emotionlessly.

"Why so grumpy? Things are not going according to your wishes?" I asked sarcastically. I didn't mean to say that out loud. It just slipped...

"Don't. Things might get ugly, so stop while you can." Greg whispered while he closed his eyes.

This was the first time he had not lashed out at me. I didn't know if I should be scared or relieved. Either way, I kept quiet.

After a few minutes, the door opened and Mike came inside.

"How is it going pretty lady?" He asked, winking at me. I didn't answer him, just glared. He might have been nice to me, but still was Greg's partner in crime.

"Shut it, asshole." Greg stood up.

Mike raised his hands up. "Chill."

"I'll be back." Greg suddenly said and turned to look at me. "No funny business."

With that said, he walked out to who knows where.

"Don't mind him. He has a lot on his plate right now, but it will get better." Mike smiled at me.

"Seriously? The only way it could get better is with a bullet between both of you eyes." I snapped. This was too much. I just wanted for this all to be over.

"Well fuck," he mumbled and walked out the door as well.

Perfect opportunity to run, but that would end in two ways. Either I would get lost and died or Greg would find me and I would die. No, thank you. At least staying here will keep me in this world a tad bit longer.

Another hour or two went by. I couldn't tell because this place didn't have a clock, but it felt like it. Being alone calmed my nerves. That was until both Greg and Mike rushed inside.

"Get up, we're leaving. Move your ass," Greg ordered. I was confused and didn't move, so he grabbed me by my hand and dragged me outside.

"What's going on?" I asked while I was rushed outside and into a car. Greg didn't even bother with the seat belt. He just pushed me in the back seat and shut the door closed. Then he got in the driver's seat. After a moment, Mike sat in the front passenger's seat.

"Got everything?" Greg asked Mike while I was ignored.

"Yeah. Let's get out of here before it's too late." Mike answered.
