I woke up the next day with a slight headache. I had not drank that much since college and my body felt it.
I looked down to notice an arm wrapped around me tightly as I lay underneath the sheets of the bed. I knew it was Josh just from the way his curls tickled my ear. As I squirmed slightly under his arm, I must have woken him as he let out a small groan. He placed small kisses on the back of my neck before hugging me tighter.
"Good morning" he said against the back of my head. "What are the plans for today?"
"I don't have any, I need to sweat out this alcohol somehow though" I said leaning my head back against his.
"Let's go for a hike."
"That honestly sounds lovely" I said sitting up in the bed. I noticed Jake was sleeping on the other side of Josh. "Is Jake really squeezing himself on the bed?"
Josh turns his head to look behind him. "I guess so" he said turning his attention back to me.
"It's a twin thing, you wouldn't understand" Jake grumbled as he swung his arm over Josh.
I let out a small chuckle as Josh rolled his eyes. "Well what are we gonna do about them" I say motioning to the other three who were asleep in the living room. "I don't want us to be considered 'MIA' again."
"Just go already, I will tell them when we all wake up" Jake said turning over in the bed. "Besides it will give me more room."
Josh smiled up at me grabbing my hand. "Give me 15 and I will meet you in the lobby" he said as he placed a kiss on my cheek. He quickly got off the bed and dashed out the door.
I got up and dug through my closet deciding to wear a maroon crop top and a pair of my loose fitting overalls. I found my fanny pack and threw in my essentials before heading down to the lobby. I looked at my phone in the elevator and noticed it was already noon.
By the time I reached the lobby Josh was waiting for me in a pair of shorts and a white tank top. He had pulled his hair back and put a hat on. I'll admit he was very cute with his hair pulled back.
"Ready" he asked meeting me at the elevator doors. "We can take me car. I have a place in mind we can go."
I shook my head yes and we walked out to his white Jeep Gladiator. "You would have a Jeep truck" I said poking his side as he opened my door for me.
"What does that mean? This right here is an amazing choice of vehicle." He motioned to the whole car as he said this.
"Nothing wrong, I happen to like these cars but I am simply saying it is where YOU" I laugh as Josh closes the door behind me. My eyes followed him as he walked quickly to the drivers side. I noticed that in the back there was a large bag with a blanket and other items. "What is that" I ask as he hops inside.
"I told you, I have a plan." He smiled big pleased with himself.
As we started down he road, Josh turned on his music so we were listening to John Denver.
"I love John Denver" I said glancing out the window as the buildings turned into trees.
"Me too, we listened to him a lot as kids."
"My mom played his music a lot, she would cry to Annie's Song quite often." I was not sad it was simply a statement but when Josh placed his hand over on my thigh, it made my mood lighten.
For the next 30 minutes I leaned against Josh as he sang along to the songs and I gazed out the window. Soon he pulled off into a small paved parking lot labeled with hiking paths. We both hoped out and Josh grabbed the bag from earlier.
