"Oh my god look at you" Angie screamed as she ran to meet me as I stepped out of the car. "Girl how am I even suppose to hug you" she continued as she wrapped her arms around me "you are glowing."
I smiled and rolled my eyes at her statement knowing I sure as hell didn't feel like I was glowing. My skin was horrible due to the hormones running through my system and I felt so much bigger than I use to be. I tried to remind myself that those were superfluous things to be concerned about as my body was growing two lives inside of it but my brain could never let it go. Josh however always reminded me how beautiful I was which always made me feel better.
"A beautiful mother goddess" Josh said as he came around from the other side of the car to stand with us and kiss me on the cheek. "How have you been Ang" he asked giving her a quick hug.
"Things have been quiet here without you. It has honestly been way too long since you stayed with us but I am so glad you are letting me throw you this party" Angie said clapping her hands.
"Thank you for planning it" I said to my best friend who was beaming.
Angie had taken upon herself to plan a baby shower for me and invited my friends from town along with Kenzi, Jita and my sister who I know were planning on coming. I had just finished up my job in Nashville a few days ago so Angie wanted to hold the party at our old house so I would come down to visit. Josh was worried about me traveling alone so he came with me since it was just a few days and Jake would take his place for the one interview they had planned. Sam also wanted to 'help' out and watch the dogs for us so we wouldn't have to take them with. But honestly I was grateful as I was easily exhausted by the smallest activities so having to worry about two less beings while traveling was amazing.
As we made our way inside, nostalgia over took me since the house was exactly like how it was when I left. Paige emerged from the kitchen and hurried to greet me with a hug. "Welcome back we missed you! You are going to have to catch us up on all that has happened now that we are seeing each other face to face" Paige said pulling out of the hug and helping me to the living room. Angie and Josh followed behind and Josh put on a record before joining me on the couch.
"God where to even start" I said laughing and looking over to Josh.
"I want to hear baby details and then I want to circle back to tour stories" Ange said leaning over the arm of the chair she was in.
"Molls, you should have seen Angie's reaction when she opened to box announcing the babies... she was screaming so loud" Paige said laughing so hard she was holding her stomach.
"Yeah fuck you for that, a phone call would have been nice so I could have had a heads up but no I had to use my brain with a grainy ass photo and a couple stainless steel beer holders that said cool aunt" Angie chimed in giving me a dramatic angry face.
"Hell no, I was not gonna have you blow out my ear drums which your screaming through the phone" I said joining Paige in laughter.
"And did you get use out of the koozies" Josh asked in a slightly teasing tone.
Angie simply pointed to the side table behind her in defeat as we could now see she was in fact using the gift. Paige and I only laughed harder.
"Ok, ok" I said trying to stop laughing "well I am 7 months as of yesterday and despite the physical and emotional tole I am going though both babies are completely healthy."
Angie's expression changed back to joy as I talked. "Are you gonna know the gender? I know Molly was always one to preach 'who cares the gender when you can hold your creation in your hands and love them unconditionally.' You would always say that and 'as long as they are healthy in my arms nothing else matters' all the time when people would talk about babies" Angie said raising her eyebrows at me.
