The next four days I spent with Josh were amazing.
He had taken me to the Johnny Cash Museum where we got a private tour, I once again did my thing where I could not contain myself and spat off all the information I knew as we looked at all the stuff. This was something Josh told me he found very cute but I don't know if our tour guide found it as amusing.
Jake had convinced us to do a tour of the Jack Daniels Distillery with all the boys on another day which turned out to be so much fun. I mean I knew I would enjoy it but it was so much more interesting seeing how they made the stuff than I thought. We even got to try all their different kinds of Whiskey which the boys took very seriously. They analyzed every sip they took thinking hard before voicing their opinions.
The two of us even hiked back up to the little waterfall Josh had shown me months ago. We did end up finishing some business we had started last time despite the water being much colder now than it was in the spring months.
My favorite day by far was a simple trip to the park. We set up a small picnic of sandwiches and wine on one of Josh's woven blankets and let Frank run around on along leash. The blues played quietly from a speaker we brought and Josh wrote poetry while I sketched in one of my notebooks. It had been so long since I had sketched for pleasure and the nature around us gave me a lot of inspiration in addition to Josh whom I found myself drawing over and over again. While Josh threw a ball around with Frank, other dogs had come up to play. It was cute to see Josh interact with all the dogs as they chased after him until he threw the ball for them to retrieve. A very out of breath Josh returned to our blanket and laid down taking swigs from our water bottle. "Frank enjoys friends" he heaved out of his mouth.
"He always has. That is why I take him to play with Lillie all the time or to Paige's place since her roommate as a cat that likes playing with him. I am just not enough for him I guess" I said dramatically as I looked up to watch my small dog chase after the other dogs for his ball back.
"Well you are enough for me" Josh said taking my chin in his hand and placing a small kiss on my lips. I rolled my eyes in response but then leaned in and gave him another kiss to let him know I was kidding around.
After the trip, Angie and I talked a lot about how Josh asked me to move in with him. She was as torn as I was on the topic. We had lived together for so long we were like platonic life partners but we also knew that this day would eventually happen. I explained how Paige could take over my part of the rent and move in since she is basically there all the time anyways.
"You know it is not the idea that we won't be living together anymore as much as it that you are going to be so far away from me" Angie had said late one night while she got high and I drank Greyhounds during us watching some indie film. "I guess that is how you feel about Josh" she went on after a few seconds, "you know him being so far away."
I looked to her and wrapped her in a big hug. "You visited me in Nashville before" I said.
"I think you have made up your mind and I know what you want even if you have tried to burry it deep down" she said wrapping her arms me, tightening our hug. "You are keeping your room here though. Paige and I will only need my room so yours will be open for you to come back anytime to visit."
Pulling out of our hug I looked at her with tears rolling down my cheeks "deal."
She rolled her eyes lovingly. "Girl not you always crying" she laughed as she wiped my tears way. "Besides I am actually more upset about you taking the record players" Angies added as she elbowed me in my side.
"You know what you can have em. Josh already has a couple and our record collection has a big over lap so I will leave the duplicates behind" I said leaning back against the couch behind us.
