The Air that I Breathe

"It has been too long" Kenzi screamed as she wrapped me in a big hug. I did not say anything but simply enjoyed being in Kenzi's presence. It had been three months since I had seen any of the boys in person and to be near Kenzi made me feel right at home.

"Girl, I missed you" I squealed, "and you are going to have to show me around this place because I am not going to lie, LA is very intimidating to me."

Kenzi laughed as she let go of our hug, "well you are only giving me a week in a half to do it, so buckle up."

I mimed putting my seat belt on before laughing at my own joke. "I do have to work for six days  but the rest of the time we are doing whatever you say" I said pointing my finger at Kenzi.

"I am excited for the boys to play some shows next week as well. We are going to have so much fun singing and dancing together" Kenzi said twisting her hips with a laugh.

"I can not wait!" I was squealing once again.

"Ok lets get your stuff inside, I am so happy you chose to stay with me. Should we get take out or go out" Kenzi said grabbing my bag.

"I am only in LA for a little over a week, I need to experience as much as possible" I said following her into the building, "besides after a day of traveling, I could use a drink."

Kenzi shook her head letting me know she got my drift, "we have so much to talk about."

After I set my bag down, Kenzi and I walked to a near by asian fusion place where we got Poke bowls. My Grasshopper tasted so good and gave me a slight buzz with my empty stomach.

"So what have you been up to girly" Kenzi asked poking at her food.

"Honestly just work. I have been working on a movie set for my current job and I was so excite when they offered to fly me out to help with the shooting out here. You were the first thing I thought about" I laughed.

"I am honored! And wow you were a pot stirrer there with that nose kissing photo." Kenzi poked my arm when she said the second part.

I rolled my eyes knowing she was talking about how someone took a photo of Josh and I leaving the museum a few months back and it spread like wildfire with the fans. "Yeah the beach photos the day after did not help but everything died down after awhile since I have not seen Josh in so long." I moved my food around in my bowl. "How do you do it? How do you go months without seeing them in person" I asked after a pause.

"Lots of tears and FaceTime" Kenzi said with a laugh but her laugh let me know that she felt the same way I did. "I mean he lets me follow my dream and I let him follow his and I make the most of the time we get to spend together."

I felt the mood shift with my question, "Sorry to be such a bummer."

Kenzi shooker her head, "not a bummer, just our reality. Don't focus on how much you have missed him the past couple months just let the thought of seeing him on stage next week propel you through this little bit."

I smiled at Kenzi's advice. "You are right" I said pointing my fork at her.

"I know I am, besides, we still have to plan our outfits" Kenzi said with a smirk.

As we finished our food and had a few more cocktails we talked about all things life. On our way home we were all giggles. I was so tired and exhausted I did not even change out of my clothes and crawled right into bed.

The next week was so much fun as I spent my days early on set running around getting actors their right outfits and I even got to sit behind the director for some camera tests to make sure the patterns of some outfits were working for our vision. At night Kenzi took me out to meet her friends and eat amazing food. We even went out to a vintage thrift store where we picked out outfits for the show, including some items for Jita and Joy who would be joining us.
