*Hiccups P.O.V*

I watched as Jack flew over me, helping me search the battle grounds for Mandrake. I sighed, seeing how happy he was to protect me and the castle, but I also felt like he was scolding me for being out on the field with an injured shoulder. And also, Jack was searching for Mandrake and I was searching for Pitch. I know he was by Mandrakes side, but I can't seem to find him anywhere.
I looked up seeing Jack was not in front of me instead, he was tackled out of the sky by someone who jumped off of their crow.
"JACK!" I screamed. "Toothless, go!" I shouted. Toothless looked up and then with all his might, he twisted in the air and flew down. The wind whistled in my ear as toothless shot down, readying his claws as he ripped the guy off of Jack and tossed him in the air. Jack regained his flying momentum and flew next to me with a giant scratch on his right cheek. It bled down his chin and he just smiled.
"Thanks for the save, pumpkin." He said.
I rolled my eyes. "Now is not the time for flirtatious comments." I said. I glanced down, seeing te one thing we came to seen. As I held my breath, Jack flipped his hair and jumped on the back of Toothless.
"I'm guessing he's Mandrake by the look on your face?" He asked, pointing down at the man with rat skin covering his head. A man next to him that -thank god- wasnt pitch and in fact was a smaller, chubbier man with rat skin as well.
"Yeah that's him!" I shouted back. "Uh... Queen Tara told me how he looked like."
"Ah, so what are ya waiting for Dragon dork? Go get him!" He shouted.
I nodded, sending Toothless down to the ground. The wind whistled even louder and Jack's hands clasped my waist. I glanced down at them and then saw my ring glow in the almost rising sun. I stared back down at Jacks hands and realized I never gave him a ring.
"So, are you Queen Tara's new guardians?" Mandrake asked, snapping me out of my thought when I barely realized we had already touched the ground. Jack jumped off and pointed his staff Mandrakes way.
"I guess you could say that," Jack said.
With that I jumped off, hoping he wouldn't say anything about our meet a couple days ago. But he just seemed to stare at me and smirked a lop-sided grin. I grabbed the sword Tara gave me from the Infirmary, and un-shealthed it. I saw my hands start to glow and the sword glowed with me, following the same effect my powers had. It was a sword that links directly to the sword once held. That's why Queen Tara gave it to me.
*flash back*

Queen Tara entered the room with a worried glance around. She appeared next to me with a smile so sincere it sent my heart into a happy rythym of pit-pats that sounded so lively. She saw the bandage on my shoulder and gasped.
"Jack had told me about your injury, but I didn't think it'd be this bad." She said.
"Its not all bad, it will heal quickly." I say. "Plus Jack has it taken care of."
She sighed. "Hiccup, I have something to give to you," she said, pulling out something from behind her back. "It was my father's, and I think you should have it." She said, handing me a heavy leathered, sheathed sword with vines wrapped around it like lace.
"Ar-are you sure?" I asked. "If its a family airloom, I... I can't take it."
"Its fine, plus I believe you will make great use of it, Guardian of the light." She said. "I am guessing that with your power, you can help break the curse of Mandrake. I believe in you, Hiccup Haddock III." she smiled.
*End of flash back*

Mandrake smiled at the lit sword, his cheek seemed to curl up with his sinister smile. Jack gulped down some spit and pointed his staff yet again.
"Seems you must weild the power of light and you must weild the power of Ice," he said. "How lovely."
Jack glared. I felt my side crush in as my body fell to the ground. I didn't have the sword in my hand nor could I see who tackled me. A painful pressure smashed into my face. I noticed it was Mandrake on top of me with a fist in the air. His hand wrapped around my neck, while the other stayed in the air. I looked over seeing the sword wasn't in reach and Jack was fighting with the Chubbier one, glancing over with a worried look.
"I remember you," he said. "You were the one talking with Pitch, weren't you?" He asked, close to my ear.
"What do you want?" I asked through gritted teeth.
"What do I want? That's simple. I just want the pod and the queen." He said.
"Well to bad, your never getting to he-" he punched me again and the time I could feel my lip split and blood trickling down my chin.
"If you think this is the first, your wrong." He said. He smirked. "I know a good punishment for you," he turned his already fisted hand and pointed the index finger up. His hand slowly came to my neck, but as he tapped me, Jack tackled him to the ground but got up before he could do anything. I coughed, sitting up as I stared at Jack.
"Thanks," I say with a scratchy voice.
"You won't last long," Mandrake said. "This isn't the final attempt, Worm."
He whistled and signaled everyone to start retreating. He glanced at me and smiled. His smile was that of a sinister puppet. I gulped down the blood and saw him slowly retreat, but not before grabbing his staff.
"I would stay and enjoy the show, but the pain will be a pleasure to see in the near future," he said. "Come on, son!" He shouted at the short stubby one.
Once they retreated, I heard the others scream in history, Jack hugged me and kissed me before running over to Alex and hugging her, but the only thing that seemed to be on my mind was Mandrakes final words. It was almost like a small joke or riddle that I need to know.
I sighed, scratching the back of my neck. I wonder when he is gonna attack next and why Pitch wasn't here. I also thought about the secret the moon told me. The secret that eats me alive. The secret I can't tell the one I love about.
