A/N: Hey guys sorry I haven't been on in a while. I've been doing credit recovery and all that jazz but I will be on a lot more. Sadly this book is coming to an end. Don't worry I'll start a whole new series of something else with Jack and the guardians. Nothing this confusing trust me. But I hope you enjoy and again I'm very sorry >~<
Hiccup was lead into a room that resembled the one he stayed in at Berk. Of course the chains on the walls got under his skin, but he didn't care. Once he was in the room, North sighed. Walking over to the chains on the wall, he grabbed one closest to the ground and walked over to Hiccup.
"As extra precaution." He warned. Hiccup merely nodded ad he hooked the chain to his ancle, making sure to not put it on the pegleg. After that, he nodded and walked out, leaving Hiccup in the room alone. The room was dim, but it wasnt a dungeon. It was a regular room like anyone's, only that it contained chains and a locked metal door. Other than that it was like paradise.
North sighed, walking back over to everyone else. "It is done. Now he said some guy named Mandrake did it, correct?" North asked.
Jack nodded.
"Then that is where we shall start. Everyone is participatin'. Even you Bunny." He pointed. Bunny grunted and nodded his head in agreement.
Jack glanced back at the door where Hiccup was, and sighed, turning to go to the library. He wanted this to be done already and the faster he found the answer, the faster Hiccup gets free. With that attitude, Jack grabbed a pile of books once they entered the room and sat down, setting his staff down next to him and started reading. Alex smiled and skipped over to him and started reading as well.
Alex knew some of the stuff, but she didn't know very much. She was just as interested at this because of her mother. She wanted to know what is wrong with both of them and maybe something in here would help.
*6 hours later*
"I have found NOTHING! NADA! and I don't think my hair can take anymore of this frizzy abuse!" Alex shouted, throwing the book she had just finished at Jack and flew herself back into the pile she has already read.
Jack glared at her and even his white and blue tipped hair looked like it has seen better days. "You know what, Alex? That doesn't give you the right to throw things at me!" Jack argued.
Alex lifted her head to glare at him. "It gives me all the right!"
"No it doesn't!" Jack screamed.
"Absolutely does!"
"Shut up ya bloody idiots!" Bunny yelled, standing near the other Guardians.
"If you found something on Hiccup I will shut up! Since you haven't I will not be quiet." Jack said in a matter-of-factly voice.
Bunny just rolled his eyes and continued reading the book he was holding. Jack grunted and looked at the door, missing Hiccups kisses and touches. Man does he miss him. What is Hiccup even doing? He asks himself, but sighs and picks up the closest unread book near him.
*The "Cell"*
Hiccup was counting the loops on the shackles that connected to the wall. He counted and counted and counted until his brain was sure there was 56 holes in the chains. He started counting bricks on the wall when he heard the grunting and arguing, peeking his attention. He sat up and walked to the door, pressing his ear against it.
"...on Hiccup, I will shut up! Since you haven't I will not be quiet!" Hiccup heard, smiling at the words. He got up and smiled at himself before walking away and sitting down. He misses being apart of the team but he knew this was for the best. He wasn't in any shape to actually go out there and be of use. He was too dangerous.
"Danger is a strong thing to wield." Hiccup jumped back at the voice, seeing someone at the bared window. Hiccup scooting to the other end of the room, holding his racing heart. "It controls the minds of the unfortunate." The man says.
"Who the hell are you?!" Hiccup screeches, still holding his heart.
"Forget about me already? Oh how I'm hurt." The man says.
"Mandrake? What the hell are you doing here?" Hiccup asks, finally recollecting himself.
"I'm here because of you, boo. I wouldn't forget a valuable asset." He said, smiling wickedly.
"I'm no asset of yours. I'm an enemy." Hiccup spat, almost sounding like venom itself.
"Enemy or not, your still mine. I need that power of yours. I failed to get it once I'm not failing now." He said matter-of-factly.
"Where's your partner in crime?" Hiccup asks, glaring as he sat up.
"You mean the nightmare king? Yeah I rid of him. I didn't need his blind rage and judgement so now I'm going after you." Mandrake said, touching the bars to see them melt away.
"You can't get me, I'll scream if you so much as come near me. Jack and Them are in the other room. They'll hear." Hiccup threatened, going as close to the door as his ancle will allow him.
"No you won't, you'll be too choked up to speak." Mandrake promised. He pulls out a black bag and opens it. Hiccup stared at it for a moment before it hit him. His head started spinning and his throat felt tight. His legs, now feeling like jello, came out from under him and both his hands try desperately to claw at his throat. He musters up the energy and smashed the door with one hand, before his eyes roll back into his head and he slumps against the door. Both of his hands falling to the floor. Mandrake laughs and closes it, fries the chains and slings the unconscious Hiccup over his shoulders.
"I finally have you." Mandrake whispers before jumping out the way he came, leaving the foul smell and a melted chain behind them.
