*Hiccups P.O.V*
I was beginning to feel depressed inside, so I decided to challenge Jack and Alex to an old fashion dragon race. Of course jack will be using his wind and Alex will be using her wings, so its not quite what you would say a "dragon race" but back on Berk, that's what it was called. I got the whole castle out here to cheer us on. Even the queen is sitting on a flowery throne she had made.
Alex was getting ready, fixing her cape into wings. Jack was putting on his new armor near the leafmen and I, of course was standing by toothless, fixing his Saddle. I had my new helmet I had made in the smithing room on my head but I haven't pulled down the face protector yet.
Jack made his way over to me, throwing his arm around my neck once he was by my side. "Prepare to loose dragon dork!" He shouted as the crowd cantillated our names at the top of their lungs.
"Are you that cocky, Icy slimball?" I asked.
He lifted a brow. "Ouch, I'm hurt,"he said sarcastically, shoving my shoulder playfully. I chuckled.
The horn rang loud, warning us that the race was gonna start in 5 minutes. Jack smiled before turning his broad shoulders away from me. I rolled my eyes and pooped the helmet down, jumping on top of toothless. Toothless waddled over to the beginning of the castle stairs, a lined with Jack and alex.
"Prepare to loose!" Alex shouted back.
"The only ones who will loose are those who do not understand the pros and cons of this game," I shout back. A small smirk formed on my lips. "Or who know the tricks," just as I said that, the loud bell rang, making me jump up into the sky first. Toothless zoomed through the sky.
I have never felt so free out in the light breezy forest. Its been a while since toothless has gotten this competitive since when we faced off against Astrid and the others of Berk. I soared through branches, feeling the wind run through the holes of the eyes and into my face.Ice shot past me and I glanced back, seeing Jack gaining speed. Talk about competitive. I swerved upward, deeper into the giant thick tree branches. I couldn't see behind me, but I knew Jack was close on my tail. I clicked my foot and toothless spun around, heading off the track and into the dark trees. This is one of the tricks I was talking about. Go off track and find another, keep in the darkness.
I leaned lower onto toothless's back, making the wind whistle through my ears to help us go faster. I could see the light shining through the trees and smiled. We burst through them right at the finishing line.
"YEAH!" I shouted, throwing a fist in the air. I pulled off the helmet and skid to a stop on the concrete floor. I glanced back seeing Jack pass through the line, followed by Alex. I unstrapped myself from toothless and hopped off of his back.
"Cheater!" Shouted Jack.
"Its not cheating, its skill and tricks." I say. I laughed when I saw Alex struggle to keep her balance after landing.
"Why are you laughing? Its been a while since I have been in the air, I'm rusty!" She shouted.
I raised my hands in surrender. "Sorry, my bad." I say.
"I want a rematch!" Shouted Alex in return.
Jack chuckled and patted Alex's head. "All in good time, Fairy squirt," he said.
"Hey! No fair! Don't be so rude!" She chased after Jack who froze her hair. I watched them chase each other. It was fun getting out and getting some air. It felt good to be my old self again. My dragon self.
Toothless nudged me and smiled. "I know buddy, it was fun for me too," I say, petting his head. He purred lowly, rumbling the ground beneath me. I itched the back of my neck and smiled at the arguing pair. I grinned. "I know right, toothless! They are fighting like an old married couple!" I shouted.
"Hey! You shut up!" They shouted in unison. Talk about a reaction.
"Then stop bickering!" I shout back.
They gave one final glare before storming off their separate ways. I glanced back seeing the crowd start to disappear as well. I glanced at Toothless who had a concerned look on his face. He licked my cheek and whined lowly.
"What's the matter boy?" I asked. His eyes went to my neck and then he whined again. I rolled my eyes and felt my arm tug. I glanced back to see Jack."Hey sexy," he said.
I rolled my eyes and kissed him before feeling the same pinch in my neck as before. I broke our kiss and rolled my shoulders. Jack rubbed my hair back and his hand ran over a spot that made me flinch in pain. I hid it of course.
"I'm gonna go back to the room, you go check with the queen about any plans." I say.
Jack nodded. "Of course I will, I love you," he said.
My heart fluttered. "I love you too, Jack." I say before walking with toothless to the room. My first instinct was to run into the bathroom. I pulled down my armored collar as much as it could go and saw that a black purple bruise lied their, thumping under my skin. The thump spread just a centimeter as I stared in the mirror.
Was it from the battle? Did the arrow do this to me? Or is it just a random bruise?
"You won't last long," Mandrakes words echoed through my head. "I would stay and enjoy the show, but the pain will be a pleasure to see in the near future," did he do this to me? But when?
Then it hit me. "He can kill anything he touches, even humans!" Alex's word hit my gut. "If he so much as touches you, you could be in serious danger." My stomach seemed to fall to the floor. I have to talk to Pitch. Right now.
