It's been nearly a week since Hiccups been kidnapped. He has felt worse then when he first arrived and his legs felt like jello. If he were to be moved, he was sure his legs would never straighten because of the lack of moving. Every other day, Mandrake would come in and draw some blood, but that was all the company Hiccup has gotten and to say he was lonely was an understatement. He missed the sun and the niceness of Jack's smell. Of course he missed Alex and what not, but he missed Jack the most.
His only thing that was keeping him going, was the fact he knew Jack would be here. He had to have that hope or he would loose his mind.

*North Palace*"He didn't do it intentionally." Jack explained, still reading the book Toothless found in the library about the answer just a week before. He has been studying it, even if his veins burned with the stuff he smelled in. "He wanted to watch Hiccup die a slow death. He didn't know about this... Ritual thing."
"Then if that's true, how did he know about Hiccups powers?" Alex asked, folding her arms as she paced the front of the table.
"He didn't. I think, just like your mom, he sensed darkness or... Belonging to him. Your mom managed to outrun him, but at a great price. We locked Hiccup up and now he is taken. Mandrake doesn't know about the Ritual. All he knows is that Hiccup has shadow powers." Jack explained, leaning back in his chair with a sigh.
"If all that is true, then how do you explain the lies. How do you explain how Hiccup lied to you and it ended up hurting him? Almost killing him, actually. He told hiccup to tell the truth about everything. He knew something was about to happen." Alex explained, showing the details in her notes as she struggled through the papers she had written on for the past week.
"That's true, but he also did that to watch him suffer." Jack says, turning the page with a highlighter and marking down everything that looked like useful information.
"So you think Mandrake wasnt planning this all along and that the fact that he is a dumb rat that he didn't know the pod or cure thing was an actual ritual to turn someone "dark", I guess would be the term." Alex asked, grabbing the pen and writing that detail down.
"No. He attacks the castle, okay? And he is stopped by us. He gets stopped by Hiccup and gets mad so he poisons him and then goes about his Mary way. While he is doing that, he doesn't know that a ritual has taken root in my Hiccup and now the pod is curing him and what not and now Hiccup is desirable because he is like another version of Mandrake and Pitch combined." Jack explained, just as Emma walked in with cookies and milk.
Alex looked at Emma and then gathered her stuff up. "I'm gonna go over these with North. I'll be back in a moment." She said before disappearing out the double doors of the study.
Emma watched her go before sighing and setting down the tray on the table. "Seems you guys have been busy." She smiles, taking a seat right next to Jack.
"Yeah. With that foul stuff still in our systems making us tired and drowsy, this is about the only time we get to talk to each other." Jack grabbed for a cookie, shoving it into his face.
"So it seems." Emma chuckled. "I will be glad to help, but I get chills from hiccup. He is wielding dark magic. Isnt that dangerous to you and the Guardians?" Emma asked, ripping a piece of cookie off the one in front of her.
"He's not dangerous." Jack assured her, taking a drink of the milk.
"How do you know for certain? He could be playing you. Like you said, he has no control over soem things." Emma says, smirking at the confusion that flashed through his eyes.
"No he isn't. He's my fiance. I'm supposed to trust him and I will keep trusting him until he is safely in my arms." Jack says, taking another drink of his milk.
"I'm just saying Humans are predictable. You save Hiccup and he will turn against you. I don't want to see you hurt, Jack."
"I'm not gonna be hurt, Emma. Hiccup is in danger and is not an enemy. Plus you were in Pitch's lair for 300 years and you were tainted with dark, yet you are good. Hiccup is the same." He says, taking another cookie into his mouth.
She chuckles. "Being in a coma for years is not the same as being awake and changed into a dark weilded over night. He will snap and once we rescue him, we need to take precautions." Emma smiled, leaning forward to wipe a piece of hair our of Jack's face. "Maybe we shouldn't go after him. He will hurt you. I won't."
"I can't... You may be my sister, but I love Hiccup. I have to go to him." He says.
She huffed. "Then get to work. The sooner you find a way to bring Hiccup back, assuming he can control the darkness within, the sooner we can get all this situated."
"I know. I'm gonna get back to work. I know you are looking out for me, but I need to find hiccup. Consequence or not, I need to." Jack lifted the book and walked out of the room without even looking back.
Emma glared. "Corruption is a beautiful thing and only happens to the weakest minds. They will learn, especially Jack, the hard way of putting too much trust in fixing corruption." Emma says to herself, before finishing her cookie and leaving the Study room.
