North sat down, looking through the notes with Alex when Jack walked in, a somber look on his face as he plopped down on the chair in the corner. North huffed, seeing the poor teen in such an exhausted state of mind. Jack didn't know what to do. He didn't know how to go about this day or approach anything they've found. Right now, a dog would have a better mind than Jack.
"Jack, are you okay?" Alex asks, leaning against the desk on one hand.
He sighed and sprawled out on the chair, looking deflated. "Mentally or physically?" Jack grumbles, putting a hand over his eyes as his head hung off the arm rest.
Alex chuckled. "I guess both?"
"Physically, I hurt and I am very tired, mentally... Well I can't even think at this point if that gives you a good way to turn." Jack says, slowly feeling himself drifting off to sleep.
Alex rolled her eyes and looked back at the notes. "Anyway, like I was saying, this is what Jack and I have found. Mandrake has no idea that it was a ritual. We don't know a cure or if there even is one." Alex explains.
"Don't vorry, we vill find one!" North says, slapping Alex harshly on the back. She nodded and felt herself grow dizzy and tired.
"Woah... I think that stuff is kicking in again." She says.
"Go to sleep." North ordered. Alex nods and goes to the couch to sleep. Both Jack and Alex had passed out, causing North to smile at the two hard working teens.
"Oi! North, Tooth says she may have a lead." Bunny says.
North nods and walks out of the room, closing the door behind him. He walks into the globe room and sees Tooth jittering with a quarter in her hand.
"Tooth, tell North what you told me." Bunny asks, folding his arms and leaning against the pillar.
Tooth nodded, taking in a deep breath. "Well, when one of my baby Tooth's were out on patrol, she sensed a familiar person near her and when I asked her she said it felt almost like Hiccups. She doesn't exactly know where she felt it, but she knows the general area." Tooth finishes.
North took a moment to soak this news in before bursting out into a loud "Aha" and hugged Tooth tightly. He bounced up and down before releasing her. "This is good news! Jack will be most pleased!" North shouted, rubbing his hands together.
"Wait! There is one more thing." Tooth says, making North lift an eyebrow. "When she felt Hiccups presence, she also felt a sudden change in it. Like.. A more tortured and darker part too. She said it felt like human suffering." She says, almost crying at the description.
"Knowing Mandrake, he probably locked Hiccup in solitary confinement so he is suffering. He probably forgot to feed him, Mate." Bunny says.
"No, he vants Hiccup. Alex and Jack found out that he vas going through a ritual of some sort and Mandrake has no clue about it. All Mandrake knows is that Hiccup has dark powers." North explained, catching both of them off guard with the new found information.
"So what should we do?" Tooth asks.
"We should wait til Jack wakes up. He would want a part in this conversat-" they were cut off by a blood curdling scream coming from North's office. All of the guardians stomachs dropped, causing them to run to the scream.
*a few moments before ~ Jack's nightmare*
Jack had fallen asleep, knowing that his fiancé's life is on the line. He just needed to sleep off the rest of the poison and then he would go rescue him.
Jack's dream started off in North's office, Alex and North still talking about the stuff they found earlier. He opened his mouth to say soemthing, but everything was muffled as if he was in a soundless room. The place started melting away, causing Jack to gasp and step back, avoiding the puddle that used to be the room.
He glanced up, seeing Hiccup standing in front of him, his armor still on. Jack's heart swelled with joy as he saw the man he loves standing in front of him. He felt tears come down and he rushed forward, but with every step he took, he seemed to stay in the same spot of the black abyss.
Hiccup suddenly duplicated and a darker shadow appeared behind the real Hiccup, causing Jack to stop dead in his spot.
Humans are predictable. You save Hiccup and he will turn against you.
Emma's words bounced around the echo, causing Jack to start to hyperventilate. Hiccup started walking towards him with a blank, emotionless face. Jack felt the words crush him, tying him to the spot as Hiccup rushed forward.
"Hiccup!" His words seemed to echo and he came to a stop in front of Jack.
"Hiccups gone." The voice says deeply. Hiccups shadow that was behind him, smiled wickedly and lifted the emotionless Hiccups hand up.
"Hiccup! Come on, what are you doing?" He asks, trying to chuckle his way out of whatever was happening.
"Hiccup is here no more. The shadow has taken over." The shadow says and Hiccup lifted his hand more back so that it was angled at Jack's chest.
Jack gasped and tried to fight the words that piled on. "Hiccup! Stop! This isn't you! The hiccup I knwo wouldn't do this! Please stop!" Jack pleaded.
"Sorry Jack." Without warning, Hiccup plunged his hand deep into Jack's chest, causing Jack to scream in pain as Hiccup's
Face was covered in Jack's blood. Jack felt tear sting his eyes and felt himself being woken up.His eyes opened widely and he gasped, seeing familiar faces and without warning, he started to cry.
