December 8 2016-7 AM-Steve's POV

I wake up with a weight on my chest for me to open up my eyes and see Sarah still wrapped up in her ball of blankets. Her head is on my chest, so if I were to sit up she would head straight for the floor. I begin unwrapping some of the blankets that are on her, when she wakes up she stretches her arms and legs out to where we hear the clicks of her bones.

"Thank you for helping me out of that." she sighs as she rolls out her neck

"Of course, are you going to school today?" I question

"I can try." she shrugs

"Bring that earpiece, i'll have Sam wear one too. If anything happens then i'll go over there, right now Bucky's future disapproval and you are the only two things that are keeping me from killing that Flash kid."

"If I really think he deserved to die, I could kill him myself without getting caught." she smirks before walking out of the room

I shake my head and walk to my own room before getting for the day, once i'm dressed and ready I wait for Sarah by doing some dishes from last night. When she's dressed and ready she grabs one of Bucky's coats from the rack and throws it on. I suspect it's because he has a lot warmer jackets than the rest of us, one of Sarah's best ones is in the hamper from last night.

"You ready to go?" I ask

"You ready to go?" I ask

"Yep, let me put that earpiece in. Make sure that you have one in too." she points

I tap my ear to let her know that it's in place before I grab my keys and walk us out.

"Maybe we should get a car, for these snowy days." Sarah mentions as we walk to my bike

"You didn't enjoy me taking care of you last night?" I ask her as I put my helmet on

"I felt like a burden, I should-need to be more independent." she explains

"I'm always here to take care of you, i'm your dad, it's what parents do." I explain

"Okay." she lets herself smile

I smile slightly to myself, but she can't see it.

"If we got a car, you wouldn't have to wear the helmet everyday. I could just say goodbye to you in the car and leave, I heard people have their windows darkened. That way you could really feel okay driving it without me being bothered by an identity reveal."

I get on the bike and wait for her to follow behind, once she's on I put my other foot on the bike to drive us to Sarah's school. Once we get to the parking lot, Sarah hops off and hugs me goodbye.

"If you need anything at any time, you talk to me or Sam through that piece; don't forget that." I tell her

"Thank you, Pa." she says genuinely before lifting my helmet halfway up and kissing me on the cheek
