Sarah's POV

Today is the day I begin at school, and I didn't fall asleep until two this morning, not really anything new.

"It's time to get up, Doll." Uncle James knocks on my door

I curl up with my pillow, tucking it farther under my head as my knees move closer to face.

"I'm nervous, Uncle James." I mumble tiredly

"I know, but this is for your safety." he reasons as he leans against my door

"I know."

"What are afraid about though? None of these kids know who you are, and when any of us pick you up or drop you off we wear a disguise."

"What do I do if they put the pieces together though? If they notice that me without my glasses looks weirdly similar to the girl being published on magazines and newspaper articles on how Captain America's kid/Tony Stark's Godsister is adjusting to the free world?" my breathing picks up

Uncle James runs at me, catching my hands and pressing my hand on his chest to feel his heart beating. I drop my head as my breathing pace levels out with his pulse, tired of feeling like the broken girl and unknowingly reminding myself why I'm going under a cover in the second place.

"You gonna be okay or do you wanna start school tomorrow?" he leans down and asks

"If I start tomorrow then my arrival will be prominent. Sarah makes dramatic entrances, Delilah does not."

"Yes, I heard your birth was quite extravagant." he jokes

"It was and how did you know?"

"I was just guessing..I don't even think Steve knows how that day went."

"I guess it's a privilege for a child's father to be absent for their birth." I joke sadly

"I told you the same thing I told you the first time we talked about this; it's common, but not normal. And you have him now, just try to enjoy whatever time God plans for you to have."

I nod to myself, looking away from my uncle's expressively loving eyes.

"You should get dressed, you'll be late if you don't; and being late calls for dramatic entrances." he smirks towards the end

"It's nice to see you being somewhat closer to the person who helped raise my sister all of those years ago." I give him a small smile as I climb out from my warm bed

"What? You don't like the guy who raised you?"

"It's not that, I just like seeing the people that I care about being happy." I begin walking towards my hung clothes

"She cares! She admits it! My niece cares for me!" he holds his arms above his head as he walks out of my room

"So does the floor, why don't you give it a hug?" Steve adds with a muffled voice

I grab my clothes, hugging them to me as I make my slow way to the washroom to shower. Instead, i'm greeted with the site of my father brushing his teeth.

"Hey Uncle James, how much do you think Tony would pay to see America's Golden Boy foaming at the mouth?" I turn and ask

"Enough to pay our bills for a couple of months." he mumbles

I turn to the other side to see Uncle James hugging the floor while in the position of a starfish, though it looks kind of natural for him to lay like this. By the time I turn back around, Steve's mouth is wiped of all toothpaste foam as he leans up against the trim of the door with his arms crossed, a smirk on his lips and an eyebrow is raised.
