September 9-06:30-Compound-Sarah's POV

I come out from under my three layers of blankets and stretch my muscles to see a glass of water at my bedside with a note.

Good morning, Sarah.

Sam cooked breakfast this morning, so it's not the best but I know you won't mind eating it. Today is a big day, but i'll meet you in the dining room and drive you to the school to walk you in. I can tell this'll be good for you, but you have to believe it too if you want to feel okay about going there.

I can't wait to see you at breakfast, maybe we can talk a little before we eat.

OOO, a Soldier

Once I get out of bed, I fix my blankets up and make sure it looks a little put together. I put some slippers on that I accidentally stole from Natalia because the compound floors are COLD!

When I know I have those on, I slip on a sweater and walk down to the main building to be met with the sight of Maria sitting on a table top as she talks to Clint, Natalia giving Sam a staring contest and Mr. James sitting at a table looking at me with a weary gaze.

Where's Steve?

I walk to the breakfast counter and put some food on a plate before making my way to a table a fair distance away from everyone else. I hear shuffling feet, so as I lift eggs up to my mouth with my fork I peek up from the table top to see my uncle in four layers of clothes and fidgeting with his hands.

"Hi." he states quietly

"Hi." I nod

"Did you get my note?"

That was his?

"Yeah."

"Can I sit here?"

"It's not my building, and i'm not you, so do what you like I guess." I sigh as I feed myself.

"Can we talk?" he asks as he sits

"About?" I tip my eyebrow as I drink some cranberry juice

"What you said.."

"What time?"

"At the doctor.." he leads nervously

"I guess."

"Good morning, Sarah. You should eat up, we're leaving in thirty." Steve cuts in from a few feet behind me

I take some bites of jelly covered toast and eggs before drinking down some water and running to go get ready.

When I get to my room, I get in the shower and begin thinking up how i'm supposed to cover up all my scars for the day. During the autumn and winter months I can wear long sleeves, jackets and such, but what about when the weather warms up?

Washing up my arms, I realize how glad I am that my body heals faster than a normal person. As I get to my right shoulder, I put the wash cloth down and grab the shower sprayer and hold it a few inches away from the three inch by three inch circle shaped brand with an octopus that's pushed into my skin.

"You might wanna bite onto this, don't wanna mess up those little teeth." the agent smirks

I take the piece of fabric in my mouth and hold it loosely, curious of what they could be talking about. By the time they get done talking, I feel the searing pain of burning metal against my shoulder. I clench my teeth down on the fabric, feeling the grit of the pain as I let out a shrieking scream.

The laughter of the men fills my ears as my eyes fill with tears.

Their laughter and my screams gets replaced by the sound of someone knocking at my washroom door. Tears stream down my face at the harsh flashbacks of my past, the physical reminders triggering the panic attacks. I soon realize that the water has run cold, causing me to curl up into a ball in the corner of my shower.
