August 17 2015-The Compound-Sarah's POV

I walk in after Steve to see Natalia laying on the side of my bed that I don't sleep on, curled up to one of my pillows. I hear her sniffling as she faces away from my door, so I shut the door and make sure to have it secured.

"You alright?" I ask as I make my way to her

"I'm sorry I didn't tell you." she sniffles

"I should've figured it out sooner, I was too caught up in myself to worry about other people."

When I get to my bed, I sit behind her and fidget with my hands.

"I never thought I would see you again." Natalia chuckles with a sniffle

"I know, and i'm sorry I never fulfilled my duty to free all of you." I shake my head

"You don't have to, they were freed when I joined S.H.I.E.L.D."

"Really?"

"Yeah, Dreykov can't hurt them anymore." she smiles slightly as she turns over

"Are you sure?"

"The building is ground level now, we lit it up."

"Okayy." I say tentatively

"Did you ever see Dreykov face-to-face?"

"Mhm, you?"

"Yeah, he always made sure that we got to know him as he got to know us."

"He wanted me as one of his, he wanted me to be a Widow." I mention

"We could have grown up together."

"I would've grown up with Yelena, I was 'younger' than you."

She chuckles softly

"You're the only person in the world to have experienced Hydra and the Red Room..as well as survived." she mentions

"I'm glad to hear that nobody else has..as far as we know. I mean that as, i'm glad to hear that they haven't gone through both."

"Yeah." she says with a faint smile

"I knew you would make it out of there."

"Yeah? I sure as h*ll didn't think so."

"What were you crying about when you got up here?" I change the topic

"You were in the body of a four year old when you stepped up to mother Yelena and I all those years ago, you and Barnes are the only two people in this building who know she exists. Since Clint's at home, he doesn't count."

"Have you talked to Yelena recently?"

"No, we lost all contact when I left." Natalia shakes her head

"How did you leave?"

"An agent sent out an order to find me at a safe house while I was on a mission in Hungary, Clint took me in."

"Do you know who gave the order?" I ask

"Agent Carter."

"What?" I gasp with a choke

"She said something about a mission she went on after the war ended and she found all these little girls sleeping while handcuffed to the bed post. Apparently she had lived, as well as accidentally acquainted herself with a woman who grew up there, who trained there..after that, the place was labeled the Red Room and they took any and every little girl they could."

"Dottie." I realize

"Dottie?"

"She was a Widow too, so her name was probably something completely different than 'Dorothy', but she tried killing my Ma like eight times."
