Chapter 21: Royal Presence part 2

The queen of Heart Kingdom asked us if we were willing to talk because she knows that we're going to defend the capital. While she did get our attention with that statement, we still weren't going to trust her since we don't know how she knows that. So, I asked the obvious question, "How did you know what we're doing here?" She explained, "I've been watching you since you crossed the border. At first, I tried to have Gaja bring you to the Palace so we could talk, but that failed. But after what you said to him before, I was more curious about your reasons for being here, so I continued to watch you until you had finally said, 'enemy'. So, I came to speak to you both face to face." 'She had been watching us?' I thought. I said, "This has nothing to do with you people. Now get lost!" Gaja angrily replied, "Watch your tongue, devil! Show the queen some respect!" Asta said to him, "What would a royal know about respect?! All the know is how to use people for their own gain, how can anyone in their right mind possibly respect someone like that?!!" He was right, queen or not, she didn't deserve any respect from us. Because, she had yet to earn it. In response to my brother's statement, the queen said, "Wait, I thought you looked familiar. You're Asta, of the the Clover Kingdom's Black Bulls squad!" Asta was surprised that she knew him. He replied, "You know me, how?" The queen answered, "Almost 4 years ago, I was monitoring the other nations to keep an eye out for a certain enemy. During that time, I discovered you and your anti magic abilities. I had two of my Spirit Guardians search for you after you left Clover, but they lost track of you. And with no sign of you after a year, I presumed you were dead, and gave up the search." I asked, "Why were you searching for him in the first place?" She replied, "I was going to ask him for his help." "Help with what?" Asta questioned. The lifted her shirt and a black spiral mark on the right side of her abdomen. Me and Asta we're surprised by what she showed us. "Loropechka, you can't show that to strangers!" Undine scolded the queen, but she answered, "It's alright, I was going to show him eventually." She turned to us and explained the mark, "This is a curse that was place on me by a devil named Megicula, who's host takes residence in Spade Kingdom about 2 years ago. If it's not remove in a year, I will die. There are only two ways that we know of that can dispel it. The first is to defeat Megicula, however even our strongest mage, Gaja was unable to defeat him. And the second, is more of a theory then a method. To purge it with anti magic. That is why I was searching for you Asta, you're my best option at survival. Please, help me." She begged Asta to lift her curse, Asta replied, "If you truly did see my trial all those years ago, then you should know why I hate you aristocrats. So, what makes you think I would care if you died or not?!" This shocked all 3 of them and the all had their own responses, Gaja said, "How can you say that? The queen showed you a secret that only a few people know, and beg you to save her life!!" Undine replied, "Please, you must save Loropechka. The Heart Kingdom can't afford to lose her!" Then, the queen said, "You're both here to defend our kingdom from an invading force, I thought you would help if I asked you for help." I replied, "It's true that we're here to fight off an enemy, however this has nothing to do with you." The queen answered, "If an enemy is seeking to destroy our home, then it is our business. You two don't have to do this on your own." 'She has no idea what she's talking about!' I thought. I explained without revealing anything about jujutsu, "Even if we told you what's coming, it wouldn't make any difference if you joined the fight or not. Magic has absolutely no effect on this foe. Your mages would be dead weight." They were all confused about what I said. Gaja asked, "What do you mean by that, Devil?" I said, "First off, I have a name, it's Liebe. Second, this doesn't involve outsiders. Now, go home and hump your pile of money, royals!" The queen said with an embarrassed look on her face, "Th-that's just rude!!" I teased, "Oh, so the great queen of Heart, is actually a virgin princess? You royals can have anything you want, yet you still can't get laid, that's just embarrassing." Her face became even more red. I started to notice that Gaja was getting mad for the queen, so I decided to tease him too, "Oh, I have an idea. Why don't you have Gaja make you into a woman?" Gaja was now embarrassed, the queen looked at him with an embarrassed yet puzzled expression. I explained, "You haven't noticed, he's been staring at you whenever you weren't looking. So, one can only assume he's attracted to you." That made Gaja's face become a dark shade of red. 'Now to tease Undine.' I said in my mind. I saw that all the talk about sex made the water spirit blush as well. "As for you Undine, I'm guessing that in the time you've been alive, you never once had a man either. Although it's not surprising, you don't have a single ounce of sex appeal in the first place. It's just so tragic knowing that you'll die alone with your panties full of spiders and cobwebs." My statement made Undine's head steam in anger. I thought, 'Good, after teasing and mocking them so much, they'll probably hate us enough to leave us to the cursed. That way, they'll be out of the way so we can fight.' However, Asta had different plans in mind.
