Chapter 7: Meeting the 3rd years

(Liebe's p.o.v.)

Me and Asta had finished forging our cursed tools. With our new weapons on our hips, we decided to heed Gojo's advice and ask our senior, Maki Zenin to show how to properly them. We asked the others about Maki and where we could find her, they said that she goes to train with her friends by the creek that runs through the west side of the valley. We thanked them and went to find the weapon specialist that Gojou recommended to us. I flew up into the sky to get a better view and try to find the creek, and I found it, it was only half a mile away from us. I came down and told Asta which way to go, and we walked in that direction until we found the creek, and on our left, we could see someone seemingly twirling a pole in their hands.Thinking it must be Maki, we both headed straight toward them. When we got about 20 yards away the person with the pole noticed and turned to face us. She said, "What brings you two out here?" Normally, when someone first sees me they have a look of surprise on their face, but she didn't react at all. I asked her, "You're not surprised to see a devil standing right in front of you?" She replied, "Not really. Because I heard that a devil and his human brother had enrolled in the academy last year, and there have been other non-human jujutsu sorcerers in the past and to this day. Just look over there." She pointed to her left, we looked to see a black and white bear, a guy with short white hair and his mouth covered, and another guy with short black hair with a katana at his side, all sitting on a log. Then the bear raised his right paw in the air and said, "Hey, nice to meet ya." Me and Asta both had the same look of surprise on our faces and we said in our minds, "That bear can talk?" Then, The girl snapped us out of our thoughts by saying, "So, what are you guys doing out here." Asta replied, "We came out here looking Maki Zenin, is that you?" The girl confirmed our suspicion by saying, That's right." The people on the log began to introduce themselves, starting the black haired guy, "My name's Yuta Okkotsu," he gestured to the white haired man, "this is Toge Inumaki." And the bear said, "I'm Panda." We decided introduce ourselves as well, "I'm Liebe, this is my younger brother, Asta." I said. Maki then asked, "So, why are you two looking for me?" Asta replied, "We came to ask you if you could teach us how to properly use our cursed tools. Gojou said you were the best at using them." "Hmm? You already made your cursed tools? It hasn't even been a year since you both came here, and you've finished making your weapons?" Panda replied in disbelief. Maki asked, "Let me see your tools, I wanna see for myself." "Salmon." Toge said. I was confused as to why he said that, but them Yuta explained, "Toge's cursed technique is cursed speech, which causes anyone who hears him to do whatever he says. He limits his vocabulary to protect others." His explanation made me turn to Asta and say, "Asta, doesn't that remind you of someone else?"

(Asta's p.o.v.)

Liebe asked me if Toge's technique reminded me of someone else and it did. Maki and the others looked confused by Liebe's question, so I decided to explain, "About a year ago, I fought a devil, whose magic was rather similar to how Toge's technique works. The devil was named Zagred, he used what he called, ' Word Soul magic' to speak whatever he said into existence. The others seem intrigued by what I said. Yuta asked me, "Say, Asta, what were you before coming here?" I replied, "A magic knight of the Clover kingdom, but I don't care about that place anymore." Panda asked, ," Why not?" I explained everything about my time as a magic knight, about my exile, and how I met Gojou. They were all sympathetic toward me, then asked me, "Do you want revenge against the clover kingdom? Is that why you chose to become a jujutsu sorcerer?" I said, " No, if I want revenge, I would let the kingdom burn itself to the ground. Besides, there's something more important than revenge that we have to do." Liebe nodded. "And what's that?" Yuta asked. "To put a stop on the senseless killing caused by both devils and cursed spirits, and make sure people will live and die properly." Liebe and I both answered. The four sorcerers were taken aback by our answer, just like Gojou did. "What's with those faces, Gojou had the same look on his face when we told him." Liebe asked. Maki answered, "There's someone who became a jujutsu sorcerer for a similar reason to yours." "He enrolled here just last year, he's a good friend of ours, and a student that Gojou sees great potential in." Panda said. This got me and Liebe very interested, Liebe asked, "What's his name?" Panda replied, "Yuji Itadori, I'm sure you three will get along real well." Maki interrupted, "Anyway, Asta, Liebe, let me see your weapons, I'm interested in seeing how well made they are." We handed our swords to her and she said she was impressed by the craftsmanship. She handed our cursed tools back to us and said she will train us to use them.

Maki trained us for the next month, during that time, she told us that wounds inflicted by a cursed tool can only be healed with reverse cursed techniques. And while we were training in jujutsu combat, we were not slacking off on training our anti magic. As we were training with both, we learned that anti magic has similar properties to cursed energy. This made us think of new possibilities. " Just what can we do with both powers" we both thought.
