Kugisaki asked Mars and Ladros if they knew how to use swords, and I knew exactly where she was going.
My cursed technique is called Ten Shadows Technique, it allows me to create up to 10 cursed energy based creatures called shikigami. But that's not all i could do with it, I'm also able to store objects within my shadow. I reached down into my shadow and pulled out 2 arming swords and handed them to the two diamond mages. I explained, "These swords are cursed tools, weapons or support items infused with cursed energy. With these, even a non-sorceror can defeat a cursed spirit, but how strong a curse you defeat, depends greatly on your own skill." Mars and Ladros each took a sword as I explained. I added, "Also, be careful with those. A wound on a human inflicted by a cursed tool can't be healed by magic." They both nodded. "Well that army won't be here for another 4 weeks. So, in the meantime, we better train you two on how to handle those swords." Kugisaki said. "True, but we can't be out here training with you two all the time, we're still two of the 8 Shining Generals." Mars replied. I told them, "That's understandable, then we'll have to train you two at night, when everyone else is asleep. We'll help you two get prepared for the upcoming battle." Mars replied, "Thank you, now we better head back before someone comes looking for us." With that, they headed back to their HQ.
(Yuta's p.o.v.)
Kokichi and I just arrived outside of the Spade Kingdom's capital, and honestly, I didn't think it would be so cold there. Even bundled up from head to toe in winter wear, I still feel colder than a reindeer's ball bag. While on the other hand, Kokichi is unaffected, because he's using his weaponized puppet, Ultimate Mechamaru, while his real body is still at the academy. His technique, Puppet Manipulation, allows him to control cursed corpse puppets with cursed energy, but that's not why he didn't come with me physically. He had gone through what is known as, Heavenly Pact. It is an extremely form of binding vow, that's placed on someone at birth. The pact trades one's cursed energy for a boost in physical ability, or the opposite and trades a healthy body for greater cursed energy. Kokichi is the latter, he was born without a right arm or legs, and skin so sensitive that even moonlight burns him. Such a tragic fate, even moreso than me.
Flashback
I used to live in the boonies in the Diamond Kingdom with my childhood friend and sweetheart, Rika Orimoto. She was a sweet and innocent girl, who would always protect me from bullies, who mocked and beaten me for having low magic power. Even though we were just kids, we were so in love. On my 10th birthday, Rika got me a silver ring, and she said, "We'll get married when we grow up. So, let that ring always remind you that even if we're separated, I'll always love you." I agreed and gratefully accepted her gift. She got me that ring because her parents were planning to move to the capital to seek a better life. Unfortunately, that was not meant to be.
When Rika's family was about to leave the village, a massive rock came flying at her and completely crushed her head. I was totally horrified by the sight of one I love killed right before my eyes. The rock was an attack spell from the son of a noble who govern the region. He was practicing his Earth magic when his spell 'accidentally'went out of control and hit Rika. But I knew the truth, that noble kid was really using her for target practice. The nobles and royals always saw commoners beneath them, they'd even murder them on a whim. When Rika died, I looked at her mutilated body and prayed that it was just a bad. As I prayed, I heard Rika's voice saying, "Yuta. I'll kill him for you." I opened my eyes to see something white charging toward the noble who killed Rika. He apparently didn't see it coming at him, because the noble was grabbed by the white thing, which then started to peel the skin off of him like he was a banana. When it was done peeling, the creature dropped him. Even skinned alive the noble son tried to get away, but the white thing raised it's arm quickly brought it down on him, crushing the noble like an insect. Blood was splattered all over the place, and covered my mouth in disgust. The white thing turn towards me and I got a good look at it's face.

It spoke to me, "I killed him for you, just like I said, Yuta." I was shocked to hear it's voice, it was guttural but I could still recognize it. I realized that the white, hideous creature before me was Rika Orimoto. The creature that Rika had become disappeared. A couple of weeks after the incident, my dad tried to hit me for accidentally breaking a vase, but Rika appeared again and ripped him to pieces. My mother, who saw her husband die, became terrified and said, "Get out. Get out of my house!! You're not my son, you're a monster!!!" She even threw things at me to try and drive me out, but that only provoked Rika, and my mother was completely crushed in the grip of the monstrous spirit of the girl I loved. With nowhere to go, I left my house and began wandering aimlessly throughout the country.
5 years after her death, Rika's deformed spirit has been haunting me, attacking anyone who tries to bring me harm. She would tear, gut, or splatter anyone who so much as looks at me with hostile intent. One time, I had run in with a noble family of 5, I tried to ignore them to try to keep Rika in check, regardless of my hate for aristocrats, but they didn't take kindly to being ignored. The noble mother tried to hit me to get my attention, but Rika grabbed her arm. A minute later, all that remained of the nobles were 5 ugly, red stains on the ground. I once tried to cut my throat to put an end to it all, but Rika stopped me. With no other option, I just sat under a bridge and tried starve myself to death. After a day under that bridge, someone called out to me, "Are you alright, kid?" With lifeless eyes I looked to see who it was. And I saw a man with white hair and wearing a blindfold. He introduced himself, "Hey, I'm Satoru Gojo, tell me, does have something to do with that cursed spirit that's haunting you?" I was surprised by what he said. He could actually see Rika.
