Chapter 40: Some Old Friends

  (Mars' p.o.v.)

We had arrived at the location we recommended to Fushiguro and Kugisaki. It was a valley on the northern border of Diamond, it was considered neutral territory because it sat next to the Grand Magic Region. Maki Zenin said, "Hm, plenty of open space, a small river going through, and far away from any town or village. I say this is our best bet guys." Kugisaki replied, "Yeah, and with a barrier to provide camouflage, non-sorcerers won't ever be able to stumble upon it." "This place kinda reminds of where the Academy is." We all looked at Fushiguro and Ladros asked, "It does?" The black haired sorcerer replied, "Yeah, Jujutsu Academy is in a remote valley in the Grand Magic Region, it even has farmland to make it self-sufficient." What he told us was rather interesting. Fushiguro continued, "Alright, let's call Gojo and tell him that we found the perfect spot." He pulled out a communicator and contacted Gojo.

 
  (Yuta's p.o.v.)

We were once again trekking through the frozen tundra that is the Spade Kingdom, definitely not something I like, none the least. Both myself and Miwa were bundled up from head to toe and we still felt the cold. Kokichi said, "You two really are hellbent on staying warm, aren't you?" We both looked at him with an irritated look and Miwa replied, "Obviously! You just lucky that you can't move your real body. I'm worried I'm going lose some of my toes to frostbite." "You can always grow them back with a Reverse Cursed Technique." Kokichi's remark really made us made and we yelled, "WHEN WE GET HOME, WE ARE SO GONNA SNAP YOUR SPINE!!!!" I could tell that he was shivering in fear at that moment. We continued our death march through the white terrain, looking for an ideal location for the Spade Kingdom branch.

  (Asta's p.o.v.)

  We walked out of the caves after finding no spot big enough to put the Heart Kingdom base, and by then, it was already about sunset. "Well, we better make camp, and continue our search in the morning." Mai suggested and me and Liebe agreed. We all went to a nearby river and made camp there. For a few hours, we had been chatting about various things, like what had we been doing during the six months after Geto's attack on the academy. While we were interrupted by the sound of footsteps coming closer to us. We quickly stood up and prepared for a possible fight. As they got close enough, we were able to see who it was, and it was a few familiar faces. A man with long white hair in a ponytail and one of his eyes black and yellow, a girl with long, pink hair and turquoise colored eyes. A tired looking man with short black hair with patches of white. And a tall, blonde haired man. What all of them had in common were their long, pointy ears. These four were the elves Patri, Rhya, Vetto, and Fana. I said surprised, "Patri, Fana, Rhya, and Vetto? What are you guys doing here?" Patri replied, "I was going to ask you the same thing, Asta. And also, why is there a Devil with you?" The other three elves became defensive at the sight of Liebe. I replied, "This devil is my brother." All four of them, saying that they were surprised would be an understatement. "What?! When did this happen?!!" Fana replied shocked. I explained everything about our mother, and how I met Liebe. They were sympathetic to both me and my brother. Vetto said, "I see, I'm very sorry about your loss Liebe." He replied, "It's alright." I decided to ask them, "So, what brings you guys out here?" Patri answered, "Well, after we left Clover Kingdom, we found our way to a hidden elf village in a forest on the border of Heart Kingdom. They guardian of the forest, Dryad, foretold of Jujutsu Sorcerers coming close to the village and we came to investigate." Myself, Liebe, and Mai were surprised to hear that he knew about jujutsu sorcerers. Liebe asked, "You know about sorcerers?" Rhya yawned and replied, "Indeed, in fact some ancient elves were sorcerers." "So Asta, how did you become a jujutsu sorcerer?" I explained how me and Liebe met Gojo and even why we were in the area. The elves seemed to be interested in the idea as much we were when Gojo proposed it to the higher ups. Vetto said, "That's a very interesting idea. There's a remote valley about a day's walk from the elf village, we'll talk with the elders and see if they will allow you to set up your base there." All three of us perked up and Liebe asked, "Really?" "Yes, rarely anyone goes anyway near there or the village. And if any curses appear in our village, we'll be able to reach you right away." Patri made a valid point, so I answered for the group, "Thanks guys, we appreciate the help." Fana replied, "It's the least we could do for killing that devil who used us as pawns." Rhya asked, "By the way, who is this beauty with you two, your girlfriend?" I chuckled and replied, "No, but thanks for reminding me about her. This is Mai Zenin, she's a sorcerer like me and Liebe." Mai got irritated that he forgot her and hit me over the head and said, "You idiot, you just now remembered I'm here?!" I turned in her and replied, "Sorry, I got caught up." "This is why you never get a date, brother. You always forget things." Liebe stated. I replied in annoyed tone, "You're not exactly popular with the ladies yourself, Liebe." He scoffed and said, "Thanks for reminding me, jackass." The elves and Mai were chuckling at the two of us, and we started chuckling as well. After that we offer them to camp out with us for the night, before we go to their village, which they accepted.
