I was going to wait for him in the car but as soon as i walked past the kitchen i felt really hungry so i decided I'll just grab some cereal ill be quick since Menzi is in such a rush. I took out a bowl and the cereal and grabbed the milk in the fridge and had my cereal i was still eating when Menzi walked in and breathing fire.
Menzi: Nomzamo! Give me my keys!
Me: why are you shouting ngisadla angithi( im still eating ) we'll go just now. He was huffing and puffing when Nelly walked in.
Nelly: Morning lovebirds. She smiled blissfully anaware of the storm that was brewing in the kitchen.
Me: Morning sweety. Menzi kept quiet.
Nelly: anisebahle niyaphi( you both looking good where are you going) she asked smiling and looking at me. I knew what she was thinking.
Me: its not what you think im going to get something at clicks and your brother here is going nowhere i need to worry about. I teased. He slammed the table.
Menzi: dammit Nomzamo im here waiting for you so you can go buy useless stuff at clicks!! Hand me my keys now!! Nelly looked shocked i was shocked too but kind of expected it.

Menzi: shut up Nelly and stick your nose out my business! He came ti where i was sitting and just snatched the keys from my hand with such force and stomped off to his car. I cried, Nelly came over to me and consoled me still in shock by Menzi's wild behaviour.

Me: how Nelly how can i stop crying when im hurting like this? I dont even know what i did to cause this change in him.
Nelly: shhh i understand im just as shocked as you but dont let this get you down ill try and talk to him when he's calm. I just nodded and wiped my tears and went to put my bowl in the sink. My dad walked in i just wanted to run to him and cry in his arms but then i knew then he would know something was upsetting me and I'd be forced to tell him about Menzi.
Dad: Morning girls ninjani( how are you). We greeted back simultaneously.
Me: did you sleep well baba?
Dad: yes my baby i just heard shouting though sounded like Menzi what's wrong. I was thinking what to tell him when Nelly came to my rescue.
Nelly: it was me and Menzi baba we always argue when we cant get our way nothing serious. Dad smiled and nodded and focused his attention to me.
Dad: my baby i want to take you to the office with me today i dont like sitting around at home all day at least now Menzi up and well again. He was right i needed to get some normalcy back in my life amd with Menzi acting up i think it was best of i had a distraction.
Me: i like the sound of that but what will i be doing i dont have any qualifications to work there.
Dad: you dont need them its my company and one day it will be yours.
Me: baba but that is nepotism.
Dad: it can be anything you want to call it my baby but you young woman are coming with me ngiqedile( finish). Nelly chuckled at that.
Me: yes sir. He smiled. Honestly having him around instantly lifted my mood i even forgot about the pregnancy test. I made him some breakfast he wasn't fussy just wanted eggs and toast along with juice. He finished then we said our goodbyes to Nelly and went to go wait for his driver. He didn't like driving much. The driver arrived and we got in and left. In the car we had general chit chat then he told me he had a surprise for me but it would only arrive end of the week. I was so curious i begged him to tell me but my old man wouldnt budge shame. He also let me know the house would be ready for us to move into next week. Those news were exciting maybe thats why Menzi has become moody maybe he's feeling cramped, i thought to myself. We arrived at his office.
We got out i followed i had come with him before so i was not new ti the place. When i got in i suddenly stuck out like a sore thumb with the way i was dressed. It hit me that i was wearing so casually since my initial plan was just going to clicks. Baba didn't even tell me.

Dad: no need for formal wear today you just here to learn a few things when you are officially my employee then you will have to wear formal clothes.
Me: okay. We got to his office greeted his PA on our way in. As soon as we got in a guy followed us in. He introduced himself to me as Sihle. He was an attractive tall light skinned man with the cutest dimples, they reminded me of Rose.
Sihle: im the CFO of the company amd you are?
Me: im Nomzamo, Mr Khumalo's daughter and im here to learn the ropes.
Sihle: okay nice, so Ms Khumalo are you interested in the mining industry?
Me: for dads sake yes i am but i guess I'll be more interested once i learn everything there is to learn.

Sihle: thats cute, ok i would suggest you choose one field to focus on under mining and see which is compatible with you.
Me: thanks Sihle I'll keep that in mind. All this time my dad is busy on his computer he looked so focused so i had to wait there awkwardly with Sihle while he finishes. Sihle whispered something to me and had me giggling like a little girl and that got my dad's attention.
Dad: Madlala hands off my daughter she's a married woman, my baby take your chair and come sit here. Sihle laughed.
Sihle: awu Mr Khumalo im not that type we were just talking.
Dad: okay you can continue with what you came to tell me im done responding to my emails.
Sihle: ok sir. Then i had to listen to them talk about things i know nothing about yoh i was bored but tried to keep a straight face and nodding a couple of times as if i was paying attention when in all honesty my mind had drifted off to thinking about Menzi's weird behavior. I just couldn't wrap my head around the way his acting towards me and even his own sister. Sihle interrupted my trail of thoughts.
Sihle: you lool so far away are you okay?
Me: yes i am. Sorry i was reminded of something i have to do. Baba is okay if i get some fresh air?
Dad: my baby are you sure you are okay?

Dad: Madlala take Zamo out to coffee I'll expect you back in 45 min i have e a conference call in a few minutes.

We went to a nearby coffee shop and it turns out Sihle was just what i needed to forget my troubles he was so funny i was holding my tummy half the time from laughing so hard.

Sihle: im sure she wouldn't if i had one, im single right now my work is my only girlfriend i even sleep with my files because i take my work everywhere. I laughed at.
Me: ok i hear you hey can you to me a tiny favour?

Me: i need a pharmacy do you know where i can get one around here?

Me: ok thanks. I finished my coffee thats all i ordered i didnt want to risk feeling nauseous in front of this guy. Once he was also done he paid the bill and we left. He took me to the pharmacy i got in and bought the pregnancy test and went back to the office. The day was pretty much boring after that..

Menzi made his way to the hotel once there he got in the lift and went to Zoe's door and opened.
Zoe was expecting him.
Zoe: honey your hear she started to sniff as though she had been crying.
Menzi: yini baby it sounded urgent on the phone?
Zoe: Menzi they going to kick me out of here today is my last stay and i cant afford it here anymore. She cried.
Menzi: ok dont cry baby we'll go look for an apartment for you dont worry. The tears dried up in an instant as soon as she heard that. She hugged him and started kissing him, hes phone rang he looked at the caller ID it was Nelly.
Zoe: dont answer that!
Menzi: but its my sister i have to. Zoe was pissed off but didnt show it to Menzi.
Zoe: ok baby ill go pour you some whiskey i bought you favourite.
Menzi: thanks baby. He answered his phone.

Nelly: im worried about you bhuti something feels different about you i mean ive never seen you speak to Nomzamo like that she was hurt bhuti she was crying and i never thought you would be the reason to make her cry not when i know how much you love her. That touched something in him, he started picturing his Zamo crying and it pained him.

Menzi: yes Nelz im here where is she now i have to make this right.
Nelly: at her dad's workplace now.

They hung up and Zoe entered with the whiskey which she secretly added more of that love potion this time he needs to listen to only her and do her bidding and once he gets her an apartment she would make sure he moves in with her. Her only goal was to destroy his relationship with Nomzamo and his sister and suck him dry leaving him penniless and then drop him like old news. That would be her best revenge. She handed him the glass he took it and held it but didnt drink he looked deep in thought.
Menzi: i have to go. He put the glass down.
Zoe: no baby why? She took the glass and ran behind him to try and stop him.
Menzi: i said i need to go!
Zoe: i see something has upset you please have some whiskey to calm down then you can go. He handed him the glass once more he just pushed it away and walked out leaving Zoe angry as hell.

I was just going through some documents when the receptionist told me that there was a Mr Ngema to see me. Thats Menzi what is he doing here.
Me: okay let him in. My dad was in a boardroom meeting so i was alone in his office. I put away the files and got up from the desk. He got in expected him to be rude or cold again. But he wasn't as soon as he walked in he came to me and embraced me. I wasn't expecting that.

Me: for what? We broke the hug he cupped my face.
Menzi: i treated you unfairly for no reason, when Nelly told me how you cried because of the way i was so rude to you it broke my heart i just dont ever want to be reason you cry not when i love you so much. I could feel the tears building in my eyes.
Me: whats going on with you Menzi what made you that way? He let go of my face and sat down with his hands on his head. Then he looked up at me as if he wanted to tell me something but kept looking away when our eyes met.
Me: Menzi?
Menzi: babe i love you thats all that matters. He stood up once more in front of me this time we kissed passionately after that he looked at me and smiled.
Menzi: lets go home babe so i can properly apologize, he smiled mischievously. I knew what that meant i also smiled gosh i missed my man. I left a note for my dad and with that me and my babe left.
