Dr Sade introduced herself she didn't look as relaxed as a doctor should be around patients her eyes were all over the place she spoke really fast heck just looking at her I was starting to feel anxious. After the formalities were out the way we sat done.
Dr Sade: so Miss Khumalo how are you doing? How's the pregnancy so far.
Me: oh Dr you can just call me Nomzamo, she smiled and nodded. " I'm doing fine besides getting very little sleep and feeling hungry almost all the time but nothing bad.
Dr Sade: thats good to hear, is baby still having regular movements?
Me: yes especially at night thats why I barely sleep.
Dr Sade: let me call my assistant to come help me out basically all she has to do is shadow me I hope you don't mind.
Me: umm OK it's cool. She made a call telling the assistant to come to the room, when she was done she instructed me to lay on the bed for my sonogram. Menzi ke wanglandela( followed me) I could see the excitement on his face. When I lifted my top to expose my very pregnant belly he looked in amazement he started talking to it.

Menzi looked at me and we agreed simultaneously and giggled after like some love struck teenagers. Honestly this whole moment has brought me even closer to Menzi and I knew from then on that giving him a second chance would be worth it. So we are having a baby girl I was excited I saw pink clothes flash in my mind. All of a sudden we heard someone sniffing uncontrollably we looked and saw the assistant bawling with tears. She composed herself eventually and excused herself the doctor followed her out. Zinzi: I will be as soon as I call my husband go back to them and wait for further instructions. The doctor nodded and turned back. Zinzi called Sihle he answered almost immediately.
Sihle : babe are you okay??
Zinzi : I want my baby Sihle I can't wait any longer you better make a plan quick.

Sihle : consider it done let me call Dr Sade. They hung up. Dr Sade was just finishing up when her phone rang she hesitated then she asked to take it as it was important then she went out.
Dr Sade: yes?
Sihle : listen I need you to give Nonzamo that sedative shit is about to go down and I need her out like a light for the sake of the baby I don't want her panicking.
Dr Sade: OK but what will I say it's for?
Sihle : you're a doctor right? Be damn creative but make sure you do it before they leave. Oh and doc if you mess up you will be a widow soon. He hung up. The doctor let out a deep sigh and went in.
Dr Sade: oh Nomzami by the way there's an injection Dr Gosai ordered for you.

Dr Sade: for erm pains and stuff also to keep you relaxed for the baby's sake you will be getting them until you give birth. Nomzamo thought for a minute and then agreed.
Dr Sade : good now you might feel a bit sleepy after but don't fight it just sleep at least your husband will be driving so don't worry.
Nomzamo: OK doctor. The door took out the sedative and injected Nomzamo. The finished up and left. Menzi helped Nomzamo into the car it seemed the injection was already making her a bit drowsy. He also got in the car and drove out of the hospital. "sure boss, they are on the move."

Person: yes boss. They hung up. Menzi was making conversation with Nomzamo who was trying so hard to keep awake.

Sk: they will soon. They hung up. Meanwhile the guys tailing Menzi noticed a blue BMW on their tail they couldn't shake it off. The one guy called his boss.
Sihle: is it done?
Guy : boss there's bit of a problem.
Sihle : what problem you know what problems make me do right??!
Guy: boss I think the guy knows we are following him and I have reason to suspect that he has back up following us.
Sihle : Fuck!! I underestimated that fool he's more resourceful than he looks. Listen I'll send more guys to barricade the road create a fake road block just send me your location so I'll have an idea where you guys are headed.
Guy : sure boss. They hung up.
Menzi drove for a while thinking how he could get Nomzamo to a safe place as he was driving he saw a police van signaling him to pull over. He sighed in relief thinking the other car would back off. He found a spot and pulled over. The other car also pulled over so did Sk's car. The policemen came out carrying guns pointed at him.
Menzi : officer I think I'm being followed.
Policeman: shut up and get out of the car with your hands on your head. We have reason to believe this is a stolen car!
Menzi : what?!! But...
Policeman : yey ndoda PHUMA!!! Menzi did as he was told. Sk and his boys came out of the car when they saw Menzi go out with his hands on his head.

The other police pointed a gun and opened fire Sk fell to the ground his boys also opened fire, Menzi tried to get back in his car the policeman shot him on the arm. The guys in the other car also got out and shots were fired from behind. One of them went into Menzi's car unnoticed as Menzi was being held down by the policeman. He drove off with the car. Menzi looked up.
" Nomzamo!!! Noooo!!! He felt a sharp pain at the back of the head everything went black.

I woke up after some time feeling so woozy like the room was spinning. I looked around and I didn't recognise where I was. Kanti where has Menzi taken me. I called out his name a couple of times and I got no response. I tried to get up but my body felt heavy. The door opened I assumed it was Menzi, instead Sihle walked in grinning from ear to ear.
Me: Sihle? What are you doing here??
Sihle : my dear Nomzamo I live here. He smiled.
Me: what? And where's Menzi how did I get here?? I started to panic something about this didn't feel right.
Sihle : well that meddling fool is DEAD.!!
I covered my mouth from the shock. I was confused and scared and now the realisation of Menzi being dead tore me up inside.
Me: Sihle whats going on please I'm scared. He laughed.
Sihle: oh you shouldn't be my love I did this for our baby, uMenzi was being a thorn in my side.

Sihle : Zinzi? He called out. I was really confused after a while Dr Sade's assistant entered. She was smiling.

Sihle : have I introduced you to our surrogate?

Sihle came back followed by Dr Sade. My heart just sank she came to me carrying a needle I tried to scream for help and move about but I was too weak. They held me down Sihle and his wife, before I knew it she had injected me. All I could do is cry. I looked at my bracelet and thought of Menzi as I cried. " No Menzi can't be gone, Menzi please come up else please we need you. I felt myself drifting to sleep fighting it was no use everything was shutting down. The last image on my mind was Menzi lying dead. Everything went black.
