Daichi got home and went straight to his room. He sat on the bed, still confused. That moment replayed in his head.
" Why did she apologise.." He asked himself.
" She wanted to hear it from me? But I didn't say it.. Damn it. What's wrong with me." He yelled in frustration.
He stared up at the ceiling. He was confused. He doesn't know what to do. Meanwhile with Akane, she was sitting on her bed, tears slowly rolling down her face. She knows she shouldn't be crying over a guy but she couldn't help it. She wished she didn't open her mouth to say anything. She feared that may have ruined her friendship with Daichi. She kept thinking about wether they still can be friends or will his perspective of her change. She got up from her bed and wiped her tears and lightly slapped herself.
" What is done, is done. I can't change the past. There's no need for me to cry about that. But I hope Daichi still wants to be friends.." She told herself as she walks into the shower.
Akane quickly showered and got ready for bed. She laid down and placed her blanket over her. She placed her arms behind her head and stared at the ceiling.
Many hours have passed, both Daichi and Akane have been staring at the ceiling thinking about what happened earlier. Akane blames herself for saying such things towards Daichi and suddenly apologising and Daichi blames himself for not speaking about his feelings to Akane. Memories of Daichi and Akane replayed in Daichi's head. He kept on rolling around on his bed. Every second, made him even more furious.
" Damn it Akane.. I like you too! "
He got out of bed and quickly got his things. He put on his shoes and ran towards Akane's house as fast as he could.
" I need to tell her! I'm not losing her now or ever! "
He reached her front door and sighed before knocking on it. Akane heard the knock and got out of bed.
" Who could be knocking at my door at this hour? Did the neighbour need eggs or something?". She asked herself.
She opened the door and saw Daichi standing there, he was out of breathe. She stood there, in shock. She didn't say anything, neither did he. They stared into one another's eyes and remain silent.
" Akane.. "
" Daichi.. Im sorry I shouldn't have-" She apologised but ended up getting cut off by Daichi.
" Akane. I like you." He interrupted.
" I understand-Wait what!? " Akane blurted out.
" You make my heart race everytime I see you and I get flustered whenever you smile at me. I didn't know how to explain it to you earlier that's why I didn't say anything! " He added on.
" I may not be perfect but I'll try my best to make you happy every single day! No matter how tired I am.. I'll always give you the attention you deserve. When you're sad, I'll try my best to make you happy or when you're mad, I'll always make sure we don't go to bed angry! " Daichi uttered.
" Akane.. I- " He was being cut off.
Akane pulled him into a tight hug, tears rolling down her face.
" Idiot. You're a big idiot you know. " She whispered.
He smiled and hugged her. They pulled away from the hug. Daichi chuckled and rubbed the back of his neck.

" Sorry Daichi.. About earlier I meant. I shouldn't have apologised after saying that. I feel stupid for saying that you know. " Akane laughed nervously.
" But I'm glad.. To hear those words coming from you. I guess it was worth it." She mumbled.
Daichi smiled at her and so did Akane. Daichi wiped the tears from her face and rubbed her head.
" So, will you accept my confession then? " Daichi asked.
" Of course I will. " She beamed with happiness.
They both laughed in unison. He looked at Akane in the beautiful moonlight and admired her beautiful eyes that were sparkling. Her face was pink, and her cheeks was still wet due to the fact she was crying earlier. Daichi pulled her in and hugged her again. The sudden hug sent butterflies to Akane's stomach. Her heart continued to race.
" I'm going to go home, alright? You get a good rest tonight." He whispered into her ear before pulling away from the hug.
She nodded at him and said goodnight. He replied her and walked away, feeling satisfied. She closed the door and started to jump around. She was really happy that he returned her feelings and that they were now more than just friends. Daichi was really happy as well. He was glad that he was able to tell her his feelings. He was really nervous but somehow when he was doing his confession he didn't feel nervous at all. He felt calm. He walked home happily and decided to go to bed, looking forward to the next day as he is officially Akane's boyfriend. He's heart was still beating quickly. Akane's heart too. She was beaming with joy until she couldn't sleep until 2 am. They both soon fell asleep, feeling happy.
