Part 18

1 day had passed since that night and it was Monday, 2 weeks until exam week. Akane woke up and got ready for school. She hoped that she would have a less stressful day that day. She walked to school when she noticed Luna walking alone at the front. She ran towards Luna.

" Luna! "

Luna turned behind and glared at the sight of Akane. She crossed her arms. She looked at Akane in the eyes as she frowned. Akane stopped in front of her, tilting her head in confusion.

" Are you okay? "

" You're asking me that now? " She glared.

Akane remained silent.

" Shouldn't you be at school right now? You're busy aren't you. Busy enough that you forgot your friend." She rolled her eyes.

" Luna.. I- "

" I'm leaving." Luna said, walking away as her fist clenched.

Akane stared as she walked away, she felt as if her heart dropped. Was she too busy that she neglected her friend's needs? She tried catching up to Luna but Luna had already left Akane's sight. Suddenly she felt a hand on her shoulder.

" Akane? What are you doing here? We're going to be late." Karin said.

" Karin..? Why aren't you with Luna? "

" She didn't answer my text this morning.. I think she's mad at me for not replying her last night." Karin answered as her lip quivered.

Akane nodded slightly and they made their way to school. When they reached, Luna was nowhere in sight, during breaks Luna wasn't at her usual spot. Karin and Akane started to get really worried. The entire day, Luna hadn't spoken to any of them. As Akane and Karin go around school doing their duties, they kept on thinking about Luna. Akane started thinking about what Luna had said to her in the morning. The last bell had rang for the day and it was time for student to have self study in the library or classrooms since all clubs have been cancelled until the end of exams.

"Akane, I think you should take a break for a 1-2 days. You have been doing your duties and helping students diligently but you should also focus on your well-being. I have already told Karin to take a rest as well." A teacher said.

" Is it really okay? "

The teacher nodded and patted her back before walking away. Karin suddenly appeared behind her.

" Where's Luna? " Karin asked.

Akane turned behind and shook her head. Karin started to frown as she worried about Luna.

" Luna has been avoiding us all day today.. I hope she is okay." Karin looked at Akane.

" Mhm, we should go find her." Akane suggested.

They ran together around school, hoping to find Luna. An hour passed and they still couldn't find her. Suddenly they caught a glimpse of her walking into her classroom. They quickly sprang towards Luna. They stopped in front of the door, trying to catch their breathe. Akane opened the door only to see Luna standing at her table packing her bags to go home.

" Luna! " They called out to her.

Luna turned behind and yet again, she glared at them. She zipped her back and put it on her shoulder. She pushed in her chair and moved towards them. Akane and Luna blocked her way with the intention of wanting to talk things out with her.

" Move."

" Luna, what's wrong..? You have been avoiding us all day today. " Karin stated.

" Can you blame me?? All you guys have been doing this past week was help other people, doing your duties and completely ignoring me! I understand you're busy and all but I felt like i was useless. Even tho I'm also a student council! " Luna had finally snapped, she felt like she was being ignored because she wasn't as important anymore. Her eyes started to water. Her voice started to shake.

" Luna.. "

Luna quickly stormed out of the classroom as tears left her eyes. Karin and Akane wanted to run after her but they stopped in their tracks, knowing very well that Luna wants her alone time. They both sighed. Karin started to get frustrated at herself and Akane kept thinking about the things she should have done. They both felt bad for neglacting their friend's needs. Karin and Akane both left school grounds, worried about Luna. Akane sighed, she decided to go and visit Daichi and the rest. As she made her way there she kept looking at her phone, wanting to get a text from Luna but she didn't text Akane at all. Soon enough Akane reached the karasuno's gym. She took a deep breathe in before opening the door. She slowly opened it. Everyone was taking a break after playing a few games. Everyone noticed as Akane walked in. Everyone greeted her and she gave them a weak smile before making her way to Daichi.
She wrapped her hands around Daichi's waist from behind and buried her face into his back.

Daichi jumped a little and let out a smile with his tinted, pink cheeks.

" A-Akane? " Daichi said getting really flustered because everyone on the team is watching them.

Suddenly Daichi heard sniffling coming from Akane, his smile turned into a worried frown. Daichi put his hands on hers, asking if she was okay.

" Daichi, go. " Coach Ukai said to Daichi feeling concerned for Akane, signalling him to go out and take care of her.

" Thanks Coach." Daichi mouthed.

Coach Ukai nodded. Everyone on team became extremely concerned for Akane as well. They have never seen her so sad before. Daichi rubbed her hands before lifting her up from her feet. He piggy back her and walked out of the gym. He held onto her under thighs tightly making sure she didn't fall. Akane buried her face into the crook of his neck, as tears started falling from her eyes. He walked up to the club room and opened the door. He sat her down at the bench and sat beside her. He lifted her chin and wiped her tears.

" What's wrong, Love? " Daichi asked, concerned.

Akane wiped her tears before shaking her head at Daichi. Daichi sighed and pulled her into a deep hug. Akane's tears started to roll down her cheeks. She put her arms around Daichi and buried her face into the crook of his neck. She grabbed his shirt, weakly. Daichi rubbed his hands up and down her back, calming her down.

" Love, what's wrong? " He asked.

" I messed up with Luna." Akane mumbled, her voice was shaking.

Daichi pulled away from the hug and gently pushed Akane's head onto his lap. He stroked her head, gently as Akane continued to cry. She wiped her tears and looked up at Daichi. Daichi looked down at her and gave her a worried smile.

" I know I shouldn't be the one who needs to be comforted." Akane mumbled.

" No Love, everyone deserves to be comforted." He said, continuing to stroke her head.

" Are you ready to tell me what's wrong, love? " He asked.

Akane nodded and told him what happened with Luna. He sighed. Akane's eyes and nose was still red. Daichi bent over and kissed her cheek. He tucked her hair behind her ears before using his thumb to rub her cheek. Akane got up from laying on his lap and looked at Daichi. She thanked him for comforting her even though he was in the middle of practice.

" Are sure you can miss practice like this? "

" Don't worry, coach Ukai doesn't mind." He assured her.

They both stood up. Akane smiled at Daichi before turning around to face the door. Suddenly she felt Daichi's arm slither across her waist. He's chin on her neck. He kissed the back of her neck, sending butterflies to her stomach. He chuckled before letting go of her. Akane became nervous. She grinned as Daichi walked in front of her. She pulled his hands and pulled his face closer to hers before giving him a peck on the lips. Chills were sent down Daichi's spine as his face and ears started to burn up. Ever since they got together that was the first time they ever kissed because both Akane and Daichi were to shy to initiate it. Akane's face became red but not as red as Daichi's. He let out a nervous chuckle before following her out of the club room.
