Part 19

Daichi and Akane walked back to the gymnasium. They opened the door and everyone was still practicing. They noticed that Akane and Daichi came back but didn't say anything. Coach Ukai looked at Daichi. Daichi nodded at him.

" I just realised, isn't he the owner of Sakanoshita Market? He plays volleyball? " Akane asked, shocked.

Daichi chuckled before nodding. Akane walked up towards Coach Ukai and thanked him for allowing Daichi to be excused from practice.

" Don't worry about it. I see the two of you couple almost every time at the store. " He smirked.

Akane blushed and let out a nervous laughter. She rubbed the back of her neck and smiled. She sat at the corner and waited for them to finish practice. Daichi had given her his volleyball jacket for her to wear just in case she got cold. The entire time she was admiring the warm smell of Daichi. His jacket smelled like baked vanilla bean that is sweet and heavenly. Not long after, Coach Ukai yelled " Okay practice is over! Pack up! ". Akane stood up and rushed to Kiyoko. She helped kiyoko carry the bottles.

" Thank you Hayate-chan." Kiyoko smiled at Akane.

Akane nodded. She walked up to Daichi and held out his water bottle.

" Here you go, darling. " Akane smiled.

Daichi turn to her and smile before realising what Akane just called him. He's hand started to shake in excitement as he took the water bottle from her. She gave a small and soft smile before walking away to give Hinata his water bottle. Tanaka and Sugawara sneaked up behind him and gave him a smirk. Daichi could feel their smiles without even turning behind to look at them.

" Senpai, are you okay? You looked quite sad earlier." Hinata asked before drinking his water.

" Yes I am, don't worry. Daichi comforted me." Akane reassured Hinata.

Hinata gave a wide smile making Akane rub his head, messing up his orange hair.

Akane walked away and everyone continued to clean up the equipment. Everyone quickly packed up and greeted one another before leaving. Nishinoya walked up behind Akane and greeted her with a wide smile.

" Goodbye Noya, have a good night." Akane said, waving to him.

Coach Ukai also left the gym, telling Daichi to lock up. Akane sighed before picking up her things. She turned behind and saw Daichi close to her face. She jumped a little bit when she hit the wall behind her. Daichi walked close to her rested his head on her shoulder. Akane's heart was beating really quickly when he suddenly got really close to her face.

" Daichi? " Akane called out.

Daichi remained silent. Akane called pit to him again but he didn't answer. She smiled at him.

" Darling? " She chuckled.

" Hm? " He finally answered Akane.

" You finally answered me, huh? " Akane laughed.

" I wanted to see if you'd call me that again." Daichi smiled as he stood up straight.

Akane shooks her head and pulled his hand out the gym. Daichi closed the door and locked it. He looked over at Akane and he noticed that she was staring into space. He figured that maybe she is still thinking about
Luna. Daichi moved towards Akane and placed his arm around her shoulder. They walked home together while Daichi tries to cheer her up.

- Luna's POV -

" Luna-senpai? "

Luna turned around and saw Nishinoya standing behind her. Luna was sitting at the bench, alone. Her face stained with tears.

" Noya-san? " Luna said.

Nishinoya sat beside her and asked if she was okay. Luna nodded and she quickly wiped her face. Nishinoya looked worried when he suddenly remembered that Akane came in the gym looking sad as well.

" Luna-senpai.. By any chance did you fight with Akane-senpai? " Nishinoya asked.

Luna gave him a small, sad smile and nod. Without hesitation, Nishinoya quickly pulled Luna in for a hug. Luna's eyes widen. Tears started rolling down her eyes as she hugged him back. Luna rested her head on Nishinoya's neck as she told him what happened. Nishinoya carassed her hair, allowing her to cry.

" I'm sure Akane-senpai felt really bad for doing that." He said.

Even though Luna didn't say anything, Nishinoya knew that she wanted to know what Nishinoya meant by Akane feeling bad.

" She came in the gym earlier, really sad." Nishinoya added on.

" I see.. " Luna said, pulling away from the hug and wiping her tears.

" How about I walk you home." Nishinoya suggested, standing up, extanding his hand.

Luna smiled. She stood up and placed her hand in his. Luna felt calmer after talking to Nishinoya and finding out that Akane felt really bad. She let out a sigh of relief. Nishinoya started to swing their arm, hoping Luna would laugh or give some sort of happy reaction. She just chuckled, making Nishinoya blush slightly. Suddenly Luna stopped walking. Nishinoya got confused.

" Noya, you should head home first. I have something to do. Thank you for comforting me." Luna smiled, letting go of his hand. She started running off before turning back. She quickly kissed Nishinoya's cheek before running off again. Nishinoya's heart started to flutter. He felt like he wanted to faint.

Luna quickly ran towards Akane's house. When she suddenly bumped into someone. She looked up and realised it was Akane.

" Akane?! "

" Luna?? "

They both quickly bowed and apologised at the same time. They looked up at each other in shocked. They laughed, embarrassed.

" Go first, Akane." Luna said.

" Thank you.. Im sorry for ignoring you. Even though you're busy, you always made time for me and Karin. And it's unfair if we don't give you the same treatment." Akane apologised.

" Don't exaggerate. I'm never busy." Luna laughed aloud.

Akane chuckled.

" I'm sorry too.. I was being too dramatic. I guess I was just really lonely without you and Karin. " Luna added on.

They both let out a sigh of relief and hugged one another. Luna could feel that she was about to cry. They pulled away and smiled at one another.

" Forgive me.. Will you Luna? "

" Of course..! "

" I'm going to go now. I have to apologise to Karin too." Luna chuckled.

Akane nodded and watched as Luna ran off. Akane smiled, knowing that she and Luna has finally made up. She went home happily, texting Daichi that it went well.
