Part 15

A week had passed since their last date, Ryu High is starting to get busier and busier as time passed. They are having exams soon and the girl's volleyball team are preparing for the volleyball competition. Akane had less and less time to meet Daichi. Since she placed top 1st in her school, everyone asks her for help. She has duties as a student council as well. Karin and Luna tried their best to assist Akane but she aways says that's she will be okay. Sometimes she'd even miss volleyball practices due to how many students she have to help. Exam periods are always a busy time for the student councils, they are in-charge of helping students prepare. Akane sometimes would even go home really late and she would have no time to sleep as well.

- Current Time: Friday, 3:35 pm -

" Akane! Are you coming to practice today? " Luna asked.

" Sorry, I dont have time today. There are people waiting for me at the library." She answered in a rush.

" You've been missing practices, this is the 8th time. And Karin is not coming to practices too since she has been busy. " Luna said.

" Sorry Luna! Could you look after the boy's and girl's volleyball team? Tell them I can't make it again." She sighed.

Luna frowned as she watched Akane run off, holding a ton of books and paper. Luna was placed 3rd in her school and Karin was 2nd. But less people asks Luna for help due to the fact that she doesn't know how to explain things. She sighed. Suddenly Karin comes in the classroom in a hurry.

" Crap, i forgot where I put my textbook." Karin said. She didn't even realise she walked pass Luna.

Luna stared at her, waiting for her to notice Luna. Karin found her textbook and quickly ran out of the classroom.

" What the hell? I was literally standing right in front of her. " Luna snapped.

" Luna, don't forget to do your patrol! " A student council said running pass the classroom.

Luna sighed and walked out. Meanwhile with Akane, she was at library conducting lessons where students can ask her questions and she'll try her best to explain. She also has meetings with the club teachers to talk about the boys' volleyball team and the upcoming inter-high competition.

- Daichi's POV -

" Daichi, you looked worried. What's wrong?"
Asahi asked, looking at Daichi.

" I'm worried about Akane, she has been really busy this week and I didn't get a chance to see her at all. She has been sleeping really late too and missing alot of volleyball practices. " Daichi answered.

Sugawara patted his back, " Well, Ryu High takes their exams really seriously, so it's normal for you to not see her I guess. "

Daichi sighed, he looked at his phone and Akane still hadn't text him back. She didn't even read the text yet. She'd normally answer him at 2 or 3 am in the morning when Daichi is already asleep. Asahi and Sugawara tried to cheer him up. Even during practice, Daichi couldn't focus. He'd get distracted from time to time, especially during break. During lunch, he'd continuously look at his phone hoping Akane texted him back. Even though Akane doesn't text him on time, Daichi always makes sure she is okay. There are even days he'd stay up until 4 am just to talk to her for a few minutes when she is taking a break. That day, there were no club activities. Daichi, Asahi and Sugawara was walking and when they saw Ryu High Girls' volleyball team going on running. They watched as the girls ran and no sight of Akane.

" Oh hey guys. What are you doing here? " Luna asked, running up towards them.

" Oh hey Suzuki. You're alone? " Asahi asked.

Luna frowned, " Yea. Akane and Karin and way too busy apparently."

Asahi and Sugawara looked at one another.

" I'm going to go now. " Luna said.

" Well she doesn't seem to be in a good mood. " Sugawara commented.

They nodded in agreement. Suddenly Daichi got a text. It was from Akane.

He replied," It's okay, hope your okay over there. Don't forget to eat your lunch and dinner and take breaks okay? "

Daichi sighed. Asahi looked at Sugawara. They patted his back and started making random jokes. He laughed with them. Some time passed and Daichi got home. He walked in and was greeted by his mom.

" Welcome home Daichi. " His mom said.

" Thanks mom. "

" You aren't with your girlfriend today? " She asked, concerned.

" She's been busy lately." He answered.

" Why don't you go visit her sometime? She might be lonely without her dear boyfriend." Daichi's mom teased.

Daichi chuckled, " Maybe later. I'm going to take a shower. "

She nodded and watched as Daichi enter his room.

" I wonder when they're going to get married. " His mom joked to herself.

Daichi put down his stuff and took his towel to take a bath. After a while, he came out and dried himself with his towel. He put on his clothes. Suddenly he heard a knock on his room door. Daichi opened it to see his mom standing there holding a bento box.

" Give this to Hayate-chan." She smiled.

" I will mom, thank you." He took the bento thanking his mom.

He went back and packed his stuff. He wore his bag and went out of his room.

" Mom, I think I might stay over at Akane's for the night."

" Okay dear, tell her that I wish her well." She said.

Daichi nodded and left the house. As he was walking he saw Karin walking. They both made eye contact and Daichi waved at her. Karin was squinting her eyes, she was to tired to see who was waving at her. Daichi walked over.

" Karin? Are you okay? " He asked her.

" Hm.. Oh. Ya I'm alright. Just a bit tired. " She yawned.

Suddenly a guy called out to Karin. He appeared behind her. He was towering over Daichi and Karin. He had black hair with blonde streaks.

" Oh, Haruki? What are you doing here? " Karin asked.

" I live with you? How tired are you? " He answered in confusion.

" Oh, is he your friend? " He asked, greeting Daichi.

" Yea, he's Akane's boyfriend." She yawned again.

" Hayate-chan have a boyfriend? Nice to meet you, I'm Koiyo Haruki. Karin's boyfriend. "

" Nice to meet you. Haruki, I'm Sawamura Daichi. " Daichi said.

Karin waved goodbye to Daichi and held Haruki's hand and went home. Daichi tilted his head trying to process what happen. He just shook his head in laughter and continued to make his way to Akane's house.
