Part 7

It was 2:46 am in the morning, Akane woke up. She scratched her head and looked at the clock.

" WHAT!? 2:46 AM? " She screamed in her head. She looked over and saw Daichi sleeping soundly.

She sighed and laid back down. She closed her eyes and tried to sleep. She rolled to the left and to the right but she still couldn't sleep. She gave up and stared at the the ceiling. Akane suddenly heard Daichi move so she turn to face him. She looked at him and smile slightly. Her face bacame pink.

" What the heck am I doing staring at him!? Jeez I'm being such a creep!"  She thought to herself while placing the blanket over her head.

She lowered it slightly and and sighed. Suddenly she heard a voice.

" Why aren't you asleep? " Daichi asked with his tired voice.

Akane's eyes widen and she sat up straight looking at him. Daichi had one of his eye open while the other closed.

" N-nothing. I just couldn't sleep that's all." She answered him, hesitantly.

Daichi got up and moved towards Akane. He grabbed her and made her sit in front of him. His back was leaning on the bed and Akane was sitting in between of his legs, leaning on his chest as Daichi held her tightly.

Akane became tense. Her heartbeat started to increase and she started to get flustered. Daichi bury his head into the crook of her neck and closed his eyes. Akane looked at him from the corner of her eye and let out a sigh. She put her arm around his head and caressed his hair.

" Sorry Akane, I didn't mean to.." He apologied out of the blue.

She shook her head and told him its alright. She closed her eyes and snuggled into his chest.

- the next morning -

Akane's alarm clock rang loudly. Akane rubbed her eyes and stretched. She noticed that she was on her bed and the pillows that was on the floor was neatly folded and placed at the end of her bed. She got up and left her room. She realised that Daichi wasn't there. He probably left and went home, it was a school morning after all. Akane went to the bathroom and took a shower. After getting ready, she looked at her phone and saw a text from Daichi.

Daichi✨: Morning, sorry I just left without telling you. You were sleeping so I didn't want to wake you up. I had fun with you yesterday, let's meet up after volleyball practice and maybe we can have pork buns? :)

Akane chuckled and replied him saying, " Alright! Can't wait. See you then :)) ". She went to the kitchen and took a piece of bread and ate it on the way out. She placed the bread in her mouth and wore her shoes and locked the door. Akane started to walk to school.

" Akane! " Someone called out to her.

Akane looked behind and saw her best friends, Luna and Karin. They walked towards her.

" Oh, hey Luna, Karin." Akane waved.

" Aren't you normally in school already at this time? " Luna asked.

" Well, yea. But I couldn't sleep last night." Akane said as she blushed when a memory of her and Daichi flash across her brain.

Luna and Karin laughed at Akane. They continued to make their way to school while Luna talks about the upcoming practice match. After a while of walking, they finally reached school. They walked to class, needing to dodge many students on the way. As soon as Karin was about to open the door, they were greeted by a 2nd year.

" Good morning, senpai." He smiled.

" Morning Haruka." They all greeted.

" Akane-senpai, could I talk to you for sec? I promise I'll be quick." He asked.

Akane looked at Luna and Karin, she then looked back at Haruka and nodded. She gave her bag to Luna and they walked away.

" Your the captain of the girl's vb team right? "

Akane nodded.

" Could I ask you for help? My friends and I want to open a boy's vb club since our school doesn't have one. But I don't know where to start.." Haruka uttered.

" I see.. I'll talk to my club's teacher in-charge. I'll see what I can do to help you." Akane smiled.

Haruka's eyes lit up and thanked Akane before walking away happily. Akane let out a small laugh before walking into the classroom. Suddenly the bell rang and school started.

- Lunch -

The ball rang and it was lunch time. Karin and Luna walked over to Akane's table.

" Wanna eat lunch together? I didn't bring my bento." Luna scratched her head.

" Me neither." Karin said.

Akane laugh and told them she didn't have time to pack a bento either. So they decided to head down to the cafeteria. As they were walking down the staircase someone accidentally bumped into Akane making her loss her balance. She was going to fall when someone grabbed her hand and held onto her.

" Sorry. I didn't mean to bump into you." He said.

" Oh.. Natsu. It's okay, I didn't see where I was going either." She said trying to maintain her balance.

Karin and Luna appeared behind them and saw Natsu holding onto Akane's hand. He saw them and quickly let go.

" Sorry. " He said walking away. Nastu has always been an awkward person who doesn't know how to express his feelings without it coming across as rude. But Akane knows that he didn't mean too bump into her.

" What was that about? " Karin asked.

Akane shook her head and told them that he bumped into her on accident. They didn't ask any further and continued to walk to the cafeteria.
