Ena's Perspective

"Jeffrey-san, please let us go! We need to help Brook-san!!"

I exclaimed at Jeffrey-san who's guiding the village folk... We're currently here at the forest five minutes away from the village where Brook-san is fighting the assailant...

Even though the distance is still quite far, we can still see the side effect of the clash between the two since were at high ground...

"What even are these ropes?! No matter how much I struggle, I still can't remove it..."

I'm still being tied with the rope that's made from light itself... Shelly-san and Eliza-san can't help me now since they're both out cold because Jeffrey-san knocked them out cause they almost escaped the ropes... Aren't I the hero? So why can't I escape this?? Also who is Jeffrey-san to be able to do this??

"That's a spell called holy rope... It's capable of holding down people, even the hero who's in training will be rendered useless with it... Also, that Brook guy asked me to take you away and keep you safe even though we only saw each other at the guild a couple of times and never talked... So please bear with it..."

So he's an adventurer but why don't he help Brook-san?? Instead he's here hiding with the other villagers...

I won't be much help there even if I want to since I'm sure that big guy will tear my spell with ease..."

As if reading my mind, Jeffrey-san explained the reason why he's here hiding... If that's the case then he should've let us help Brook-san...

"You still don't get it do you?? That Brook guy wanted you to escape since the human-kin cannot lose you... Also if you can't even escape my rope then you can't fight back there, you're just gonna get in the way of Brook... Even these guys won't change anything if they helped..."

So we're just deadweights?? My shoulders dropped when I realized that... I have grown strong in these past month but even with that, I still can't save someone close to me...

I fell silent for quite a bit of time until Jeffrey-san sat beside me and spoke again...

"But may I ask who this 'he' that Brook talks about? He spoke as if he's sure that 'he' will come for sure..."

He's talking about Red-san... I think it's okay to tell him since Red-san only said not to tell the officials and since the Adventurers Guild is not affiliated with any country...

"You mean the dragon that are rumored to be subjugated by you?"

"That dragon is already dead and it was done by Red-san alone... Ah! Please don't tell anyone from the government about this... Red-san doesn't want to be affiliated with the government..."
