Ena's Perspective

"A-are you perhaps the hero's party??"

I nodded at the guard that asked that... We're now at the village where the kidnappings are happening... Though we're only at the entrance since they're on high alert...

It took us three days to get here and it's already getting dark so we would like to enter the village but as I said they're on high alert...

"Everyone! The hero is here!!!"

The guard shouted and suddenly a surge of people emerged from the village...

"Please find my daughter..."

"Please I'll give all of my fortune to you, just find my wife..."

"My granddaughter... Please save her..."

I can hear voices asking for help from every corner... I heard that so many was abducted but I didn't expect for it to be this many...

It took a while before they calmed down... They led us towards the house of the village chief...

Upon arriving, we were accommodated by a good looking man... He has blonde hair and bluish eyes.... A truly good looking guy... However, I don't know why but I feel something unpleasant from him...

"I am Jeffrey... I'm the grandson of the chief of this village... Please come in, grandpa is waiting for you..."

We followed him inside, and he led us towards a well lit room... Inside that room, there's a man lying on the bed full of bandages and is drinking tea...

Is this his grandfather?? Aren't he look a bit young?? He has few wrinkles on his face and his hair has few grays on it but his body is still well built so people will only think that he's only forty-five or something on that range... You won't think that he's already a grandfather of someone who looks like twenty years old...

"Are you the hero?"

"Yes sir I am..."

"Please don't call me sir... My name is George and I'm sure you guys already met but this is Jeffrey my grandson..."

"Nice to meet you George-san... My name is Ena, I'm the current hero but I also work as an adventurer to train... This is Brook-san, Shelly-san, and Eliza-san..."

I introduced us to George-san... The three nodded to him which he responded with a faint smile...

"Let's get to the matter at hand right away... Please leave this village right away..."

He said that while bowing which left us dumbfounded...

"What do you mean??"

Shelly-san asked him...

"I don't mean to be rude at you guys but didn't Ena-san just said that she's working as an adventurer to train?? Those words of her made me sure that she can't fight the person responsible for the kidnappings... Believe it or not, I'm an A-rank adventurer before I became the chief of this village... I can somewhat guess the strength of a person given my experience, and when you guys entered I can pretty much tell that Ena-san still doesn't know how to fully control her abilities given that she's only been summoned for a month... I think it's just the guild being idiots that they put you to S-rank right away..."

He's right about all of that!! See? I told you why I don't want to accept this quest but those guild workers are so persistent that it overwhelmed me!!!
