Daera exhaled tiredly and plopped herself on the bed after packing up all of her things into the bags. She went out of the room and walked downstairs. She went to the living room and saw Sunghoon who was still asleep.
She smiled to herself and went to the kitchen to drink some water. She flinched in surprise after seeing a familiar female figure cooking.
The girl turned around and looked at her with startled eyes, "You? What are you doing here?"
"I'm supposed to ask you that. How did you get in?" Daera asked back confusedly.
The girl smiled before wiping her hands with the apron, "I'm Yeona. I used to be Sunghoon's girlfriend so I know the passcode to the house."
"Still. You shouldn't be breaking into houses like this," Daera frowned before taking a seat at the kitchen island.
Yeona smiled, "Are you and Sunghoon a couple?"
"What? No! We're just friends. I'm moving out today," Daera denied.
Yeona nodded slowly and lowered her gaze before turning around to continue cooking, "Just so you know, I still like him. So I hope that you'd understand and stop hanging out with him."
Daera fiddled with her fingers and bit her bottom lip guiltily, "Sure. I understand."
"I would appreciate it if you leave right now. Sunghoon is still asleep after being too drunk. He reeks of alcohol. I'll take care of him from here," Yeona smiled.
Daera nodded and stood up before walking upstairs to get her bags. She went back downstairs and headed to the entrance door. She turned around and took a look around for the last time before leaving the house.
Yeona heard the front door close and frowned to herself. She tightened her grip around the ladle she was holding and exhaled heavily. She tasted the soup that she was making and added a bit of salt.
"What are you doing here?" Sunghoon asked as he stood behind her. He looked at her with surprised eyes before asking, "Where's Daera."
"You mean the girl that you were staying with? She left."
"What did you do?" He sighed. She turned off the stove and turned around to face him, "What's so important about her? You guys aren't a couple so there's no reason why she should stay right?"
"Why can't she stay with me? We broke up, right? So I have every right to determine who I want to stay with," he argued back.
She clenched her fists and looked away, "She's the one who decided to leave. I didn't chase her away."
"Please leave, Yeona. Or else I will call the authorities on you for trespassing," was all he said before leaving her alone in the kitchen.
She gritted her teeth in anger before throwing the ladle away. The ladle hit the wall and soup were splattered against the wall.
"If I can't have him, no one else can."

Daera went to the hospital in her casual outfit since it was her day off. She left her bags in her car and walked to the lobby, greeting the staff that were working. She got into the elevator with other people and went to the VIP hallway.
She arrived at the room that had Jay's name on the door. She walked in and saw Heeseung helping the said patient change into a new set of clothes.
She looked at his shirtless body and her eyes dropped to his abs. Heeseung saw her and immediately shielded Jay with a towel, "Yah! You can't just barge in here!"
She moved around, "Let me see!"
"Yah! You pervert!" Heeseung yelled again, towering over her to block her view. Jay put on his shirt and laughed quietly.
She frowned, "I can't see! He already got his shirt on!"
Heeseung looked at the younger surgeon in shock. He was too speechless at how bold she was to take a look at his shirtless friend. Jay sighed and ruffled her hair, "I'll make sure to show it to you again next time. When we're alone."
Daera looked at him in disbelief. Heeseung looked at him with widened eyes like he was traumatised by the conversation. He was surprised to see how bold Jay became after being stabbed.
She cleared her throat awkwardly and handed them a container filled with food for breakfast. "I got it on the way here," she looked away, her cheeks forming a warm shade of red.
Jay took the container and smiled before sitting on the bed, "Thanks."
She sat down on the chair next to the bed and clasped her hands together due to nervousness. The door opened and Jake walked in worriedly, "Have you guys heard?"
"What?" Heeseung asked as he tidied up Jay's clothes. "The police found Hojun," Jake answered.
"That's great!" Daera said happily. Jake sighed, "Dead. They found him dead. In one of the toilets in this hospital."
"What?" Heeseung and Jay asked in unison. "How can he–What happened–I don't understand," she couldn't process the information.
"He got choked. There was a choking bruise around his neck. And his fingernails were missing."
"If he's the one who killed Sunghoon's ex-girlfriend and put it on the couch, and now he's dead, don't you think he might be working with someone we know? Someone close to one of us? I have a feeling it has something to do with Sunghoon or Daera? Hojun said he was about to harm her," Jay explained.
"So you're saying the person might have grudges against Sunghoon and Daera?" Heeseung asked.
Jay nodded and looked at Daera who was avoiding their eye contact nervously. He smiled softly and held her hand, "I'll protect you. Don't worry."
