Sunghoon slammed the rooftop door close, running his fingers through his hair frustratedly. He stopped walking when he saw a girl in her patient pyjamas. She was trying hard to walk with her weak legs as she held the wooden chairs for support.

"Miss," he called, sighing out of annoyance, "You are not supposed to be here."

She turned around and he stopped breathing. His heart started thumping like he just finished exercising. His cheeks formed an unknown shade of warm red.

She looked at him with bright eyes, her dark brown hair being pushed back with the night breeze.

"I'm sorry, I was just getting some fresh air," she explained and was about to walk back but missed her step.

He immediately ran to her to help but she put out a hand to stop him, "I can do it by myself."

He folded his arms and arched an eyebrow, waiting for her to get up. She tried reaching for the chairs but failed, "Okay, can you help me now?"

He wrapped his arms around her waist and she looked at him with startled eyes. He looked unbelievably handsome and ethereal to her. His face was so close that it took her breath away.

He led her to the bench and they both took a seat, making sure there was a gap between them.

"What are you doing here late at night?" He asked.

"I haven't been walking for a long time. I hate sitting on that damn wheelchair. It's not like I lost the ability to walk," she frowned and kept her eyes fixed on the buildings in front of them.

She sighed heavily, "What about you?"

"A kid died during surgery today. I failed to save him. He was abused by his parents until he needed surgery and his aunt brought him here immediately. His condition was too critical so the surgery couldn't save him."

"That's so sad."

"What happened to you?" He finally made eye contact with her. He watched as her eyes blink every time, noticing how brown the colour was. He looked at the soft blush on her cheeks and how her lips move when she talks.

He had never felt like that before. Not even with Daera.

"I got hit by a car when I was crossing the road," she said, "The one who drove the car was my boyfriend. He was trying to kill me so that he could get back to his ex. His ex told him to kill me first to get back with her."

He nodded awkwardly, averting his eyes to his hands. The air became awkward and silent as none of them started a conversation.

"I'm Sunghoon by the way," he introduced, putting out a hand to shake hers.

"Ahn Daeun," she shook his hand.

Daera held her purse tightly as she walked around the park with Jay. The night breeze was a bit strong and she hugged herself, feeling cold. He noticed and took off his coat, putting it on her.

She smiled and linked her arms with his, "I had fun tonight."

"Me too," he smiled back. She frowned and looked at him, making sure he was in the right mood for a talk. She pulled away and lowered her gaze, "I'm meeting Yeona."

He widened his eyes, "What? But Daera, she tried to kill–"

"I'm going to arrest her right away."

"Stop being stubborn, Daera. What will you do if she hurts you again?"

"I'm not being stubborn. If we don't do anything, she'll hurt someone else. What if she hurts my parents? What if she hurts Sunghoon? What if she hurts you?"

"Daera, I–"

"Jay, if we let her be then what if she starts harming Sunghoon? He's your friend. And she's already sick in the head because she killed his ex-girlfriends. She wouldn't hesitate to kill any of us if we don't stop her."

"Daera, no."

"But–"

"I am not losing you like how I lost my mother!" He yelled frustratedly. She looked at him with shocked eyes, clenching her fists tightly.

"I know you care for Sunghoon and believe me, I do too. But I have loved and waited for you for years and I am not losing you just like that."

He sighed and walked ahead of her, "We should go home."

She watched as his figure became smaller and smaller in her sight. She followed behind him and hugged herself, knowing that it wouldn't be the best to talk to him since he was not in the mood anymore.
