Chapter Seventy-Nine: Sacrifice

Shamie's POV
"Erlyn, stop! Just stop!" Sunod-sunod na sigaw ni Decerie from afar. Inilayo sila ng mga taong may hawak sa kanila kanina. It's just me and Erlyn right now.
I'm Erlyn's hostage as of the moment. My life is in danger, as well as the lives of the people who are trying to save me.
"Aw, your little friends are starting to save you," Erlyn said, at hinwakan ang panga ko, pilit na pinapakita ang mga kaibigan kong nagpu-pumilit na iligtas ako, makawala sa mga taong may hawak sa kanila.
But they just can't do that. Sa tuwing nagpupumilit silang makawala, ay kasabay ng pananakit sa kanila ng mga taong may hawak sa kanila.
"Ano bang kailangan mo, Ers?" Mahinang tanong ko kay Erlyn, na ngayon ay nasa likuran ko.
"I'm sorry, Shamie. My sister's life is in danger. I don't want to do this, I don't want to hurt you, pero kapatid ko nalang ang meron ako," she said, whispering. I knew she had her reasons. I knew she won't do this without anything.
"What do you need to do in order to save your sister?" I asked, I'll be more than willing to help her even if she's not asking for it.
"I need to... k-kill you," she said, and she was hesitating to answer it. My question.
I was... shocked upon hearing her answer. I didn't expected that. But then I thought, I made myself ready already. I know this day would happen. I just didn't expect my killer to be her.
"Go on, if that's the only thing. What's your plan?" I asked, still whispering. Naiintindihan ko sya. If I was in her position, I will do everything too just to save my brother.
"C-Can you just... go with the flow?" she asked, and I nod as an answer. Palihim din akong natawa.
"Clean your name after this, okay? Get all the evidences. I might not be there to help you, but I'll be there to guide you, darling." I said, as if like that would be the last sweet thing I'd say to her.
"I'm sorry," she whispered for the last time before pulling the act.
Tinulak nya ako, that caused for me to sit on the ground.
"You're such a fool, Shamie," she said, as she point the gun on me.
"Sa tingin mo, magkaibigan tayo?" Tanong nya and she laughs devilishly.
"Ang tagal. She should've been dead by now," the man, her Dad, came on approaching.
"Pinapahaba ko lang ang oras nya, Dad." Erlyn reasoned out. I slowly get up and composed myself. If this would be my last hours, I want to show that my life is worth it. That the life that they'll take just to save for another precious life did fight until the end.
"That's wrong," sabi ng tatay nya, and then a loud shot of gun echoed here inside the airport.
I was targeted on my right shoulder.
"Shamie!" I heard all my friends shouting my name, crying. And all I can do is to smile at them.
"Dad!" Galit na sigaw ni Erlyn sa tatay nya. "Sabi ko, ako ang papatay sa kanya!" Sigaw pa nya at nagpapadyak pa. She look so frustrated.
"Then do it! Don't just stand there and do nothing, do something!" Sigaw naman pabalik ng tatay nya sa kanya. Sa tingin ko, nagmana si Erlyn sa nanay nya.
"I want her dead. Now!" Nakakapangilabot yung sigaw ng tatay nya. He... he's an evil.
"Tandaan mo, napakasama nyang tao. She's always out shining you! Mula grade school kayo, hanggang ngayon na isa na sya sa mga pinaka-sikat na celebrities. Now you're working behind her spotlight!--"
"Stop! Just stop! I don't want to hear anything more! Stop!" Ers said, cutting her Dad off. Her Dad is brainwashing her. Her Dad is a jerk.
I feel so tired. Patuloy na umaagos ang dugo sa balikat ko. Nauubusan na ako ng dugo.

Thea's POV
Hindi ko alam kung ano ang nangyayari. We can just hear shouting.
Nakikita din namin kung paano umaagos ang dugo mula sa balikat ni Shamie. Nakikita ko kung paano magwala si Thaniel. I can see him crying, trying to save his girlfriend.
I am too, trying everything just to come near my bestfriend, for me to save her. Pero sa tuwing nagpupumilit akong magpumiglas, kapalit naman ay ang pananakit ng taong may hawak sa akin.
I can't see his face clearly, because he is wearing a mask. I want to punch thim straight in his face pero mahirap na. Malalaking tao ang kalaban namin dito. Not literally big, what I mean by malalaki, is that they are so much powerful.
Kasi kung hindi, kanina pa dapat kami na-rescue ng mga pulis. And I can see from here, na marami silang nga tauhan. I don't know, baka sindikato. But why are they trying to hurt Shamie? Why are they hurting my bestfriend?
Another shot of the gun echoed inside the airport. Another part of Shamie's body was hit. I can hear her crying the pain out.
"Fuck you!" I shouted to the man that shot her. That is to be said that that's Erlyn's Dad.
"Shut up!" The man holding me demanded, and then he punched me on my stomach.
"Vai!" I heard Sam's voice. He's calling me. Pero hindi ko sya pinansin, dahil may mas nakapukaw ng pandinig ko.
"Kill me!" Nagulat ako, kami, lahat kami. Nagulat kami ng marinig naming isigaw ni Shamie ang mga salitang 'yon.
"Now Erlyn! Pull it!"

Shamie's POV
It feels like nothing. Ewan ko ba. As of this moment, I feel numb, but I know I've been shot by a gun.
"Pull the trigger!" Paulit-ulit na sigaw ko kay Erlyn.
"AAHHHH!!" Erlyn shouted, as she pull the trigger.
The last gunshot was from her, at tumama 'yon sa bandang dibdib ko, sa may puso ko.
Kasabay ng pagbagsak ko ay ang pagdating din ng mga rescuers. I can still see my friends running towards my direction.
"Shamie!" Thaniel shouted pagkalapit nya sakin.
I know I was shot, but I'm still able to see what's happening. But it's just for a while.
"L-Love..." Thaniel said softly while crying.
"I-I'm... s-sorry," even though I can't speak properly, I still want to say sorry.
"N-No, it's okay. We'll call the ambulance. We'll bring you to the hospital," he said, shaking, trembling, he is crying.
"I love you," I whispered, and I hope he could still hear it. I can't make my voice louder now.
I'm sorry I agreed. I'm sorry I sacrificed. I'm sorry.
I can't breathe normally. Para akong hinihika na hindi. My blood is flowing continuously out of my body. I won't make it to the hospital.
Wala akong ibang magawa kundi ang pumikit, at damhin ang mga luha na kusang umaagos palabas sa mga mata ko.
"Open your eyes, please love! Open!" I heard Thaniel shouted. Pero wala na akong sapat na lakas. Pero pipilitin ko. For the last time, I'll open my eyes.
"Stay with me... p-please, stay with me.." he said while still crying. I know the members and my friends are now around us.
Okay, I'll stay for a while.
