Episode 11, The Day of the Black Sun: Part 2
Things were looking good for us. The fight moved from the beach to the capital and the eclipse hasn't even kicked in yet.
I smiled and nudged Sokka's side when I saw Katara and dad coming our way.
"Thank the spirits you're okay," I breathed out and grinned up at our dad.
"Yeah, thanks to your sister," he said and sat down on a rock.
Katara knitted her eyebrows and looked up in the air as she took a few steps forward.
"What's wrong Katara, you seem distracted," dad said and watched her.
"Is that Aang?" she suddenly asked and never have I ever turned around so fast.
"What?!" I almost shrieked and really saw Aang flying in our direction.
"Please tell me you're here because the Fire Lord turns out to be a big wimp and you didn't need the eclipse to take him down," Sokka said, though from Aang's distressed expression I doubt that was the case.
"He wasn't home," Aang told us and I let out a groan and clasped my hands over my face. "No one was. The entire palace city is abandoned."
Sokka's eyes widened as he looked at the palace in the distance, "They knew."
"What are we gonna do now?!" I asked and looked at each of them.
Aang lowered his head. "It's over, the Fire Lord is probably long gone, far away on some remote island where he'll be safe during the eclispe."
"No, my instincts tell me he wouldn't go too far," Sokka said, "He would have a secret bunker."
I gasped and a smile formed on my lips, "And coincidentally, I have an idea where this bunker might be."
Their faces immediately brightend. "We have ten minutes to find the Fire Lord before the full eclipse starts," Sokka informed us and we all nodded.
"We can still do this. We can still win the day," Aang said and I nodded.
"Of course we can, we're team Avatar after all," I clapped my hands, "Let's go friends, have a Fire Lord to finish."
The others all stood up but Katara interrupted, "Wait!"
I looked over my shoulder with a raised eyebrow. "If they knew we were coming this could be a trap. Maybe we should use the time we have left to get everyone out of here safely."
"Everyone here came prepared to risk everything for this mission," I looked at dad just as everyone else did. "They know what's at stake, and if there's still a bit of hope, they would want Aang to go for it."
I nodded. Dad was right we knew what was coming for us.
"What do you think, you have to face the Fire Lord," Sokka asked Aang.
There was a small pause before Aang turned his back to us looking at the palace, "I've gotta try."
I smiled brightly and nodded, "Great then let's go." My siblings and Toph also nodded and we climbed on Appa. Katara stayed behind since she helped Dad.
"Below the capital city there is supposed to be a huge maze out of tunnels with a few bunkers," I told them as Appa was flying towards the city, "I couldn't see anything in the palace when we visited it but we have Toph who can detect the tunnels."
Topd nodded and I smiled slightly, "It's best when we land outside the city on the volcano somewhere."
"Sure," Aang said and Appa quickly landed as we jumped off immediately.
