Episode 4, The Warriors of Kyoshi
As far as I know, there are only two guards left, one of them being Kano, and they were the ones who shoved me into my room and locked it. The rest went on land to catch Aang. Perfect, so only two guards I have to take down.
I thought about how to knock the two out but I couldn't use fire bending since their's would be far better than mine. Blood bending? Nope. Water bending? Nope, I'm not gonna kill them, I only want to knock them out and so they could tell someone what they saw. So be it then, I am gonna kick their asses.
I smiled to myself and went up to the door, "Excuse me, could I have a glass of water?" I asked the guards through the door. I heard them bickering about who would go and get it. Somehow I heard two sets of footsteps walking away and after a few minutes the footsteps of one person were coming back and I made myself ready to knock the first one out.
The door opened, "There you go miss." The first guard said as he was entering my room. I didn't hesitate for long and punched him in the face. The glass fell on the floor shattering to thousand pieces and the guard groaned holding his nose. "I am so sorry." I mumbled before elbowing him on the side of his head knocking him out in the process. That was easier than I thought.
I stepped over the unconscious guard and got out of the room closing the door behind me. I looked left and right and Kano was nowhere in sight. I went right and turned a corner when he was coming my way looking shocked.
I smiled, waved at him and turned around to go the other direction. He stood frozen for a moment before running after me and shouting at me to stop. I ran into a room and leaned on the wall beside the door. There was a metal helmet from the soldiers' uniform and I picked it up.
Kano didn't take long to enter the room and I mumbled a 'sorry' before smashing the helmet on his head. He fell on the ground lying there motionless. I released a breath of relieve and made my way on deck.
"I made it" I mumbled to myself and let out a small laugh. That was the best birthday ever. I got off the ship and looked around to find the best direction to go. I decided to follow the path which seemed like to lead to a village or something.
I walked for a few minutes and when I saw the village in the distance a bright smile made its way on my face. The smile quickly disappeared when I saw the village was on fire. "No." I breathed out.
I was frozen on my place and couldn't believe that was happening. I looked up and saw Appa flying away. I groaned and put my hands on my head. My life surely loves me. I snapped out of my thoughts when it rained on me. I looked around to see that it only rained over the village but nowhere else. Certainly Aang's doing.
When I looked back at the village I gasped and put a hand over my mouth. Now my bad luck is going too far. There was Zuko and his crew on their Rhinos. Zuko looked at me with narrowed eyes and I quickly turned around and ran as fast as I could.
I heard heavy footsteps following me and I knew that Zuko was following me with his Rhino. I ran into a forest and decided that it would be best to hide. First I tried to climb up a tree but it didn't work so I his behind a big tree which was big enough to hide my complete body.
The sound of the footsteps stopped and I released a quite breath exhausted from running. I waited a few more minutes and after I was sure there was no one out here anymore I walked backwards still looking in the direction I heard the footsteps a few minutes ago.
"Hello" I jumped when someone spoke up from behind me. I turned around sighing while rolling my eyes. I am not even surprised anymore to see Zuko standing there with a smug look on his face. I looked at the Fire Prince with a raised eyebrow. He only grabbed my wrist and dragged me back to the ship. Guess I'm going back.
When we were back on deck I was surprised that he didn't yell at me or punished me but the two guards I knocked out. They were standing in front of Zuko and me, "How could you be so foolish?!" he roared, "I need the Avatar and she is one of the Avatar's friend. How did she even beat you?" he still yelled.
I stood there awkwardly, shifting my weight on my left foot and the guards just looked on the ground ashamed. Zuko opened his mouth to continue yelling at them but I interrupted him, "Hey ponytail, I knocked them out and escaped, I don't think you would be able to prevent me from running away if you were unconscious." I stated crossing my arms over my chest.
He ignored me and told the guards if they let that happen again he would throw them off the ship and then ordered them to take me to my chamber. As we were walking I looked at Kano and the other guard, "I am so sorry, really" I apologised. They looked at me and nodded their heads showing me that they understand.
The door closed behind me but they didn't lock it. I sighed at my bad luck today but I am certainly not giving up. There were still glass pieces on the floor from earlier and I bend down to clean the mess up. As I was about to pick a piece up someone barged into the room making me flinch and cut my finger on a piece of glass.
What is it with me and getting hurt all the time? I looked up to see who it was only to turn back to pick the glass up as soon as I saw ponytail standing there not looking happy at all. "What do you want?" I asked him a bit too rude but I was annoyed by my life right now.
"Do not try to escape again or you will be locked back in your prison cell." He warned me. I balled my fists not caring about the glass in them, I could only prevent myself from punching him right now like this.
Blood dripped from my balled hands but I didn't care, I could easily heal them later. Unfortunately, Zuko noticed, he stared at my hand and called for a guard. I got a bit uncomfortable and stood up wiping my hands on my trousers. He came closer to me and grabbed my wrist gently opening my fist. His touch was so gentle I couldn't really believe that he was so aggressive normally.
"What happened?" he asked in a whisper. This boy is so confusing, how can he be so nice, aggressive and so handsome at the same time. Did I just think of him as handsome? I shook my head slightly and pulled my hand out of his wanting the thought to get out of my head.
"Nothing" I mumbled looking everywhere but him and stepping back a bit. There was a knock on the door and a guard entered with something to clean the floor and a first aid kit. I insisted on helping the guard with cleaning but Zuko didn't let me so I bandaged up my hand since I couldn't just heal it in front of him.
After everything was done and everyone went to bed I did too. I was beyond exhausted from today. But before I fell asleep I sang 'Happy Birthday' for Katara and me celebrating our birthday alone and quietly.
