Episode 14, The Boiling Rock: Part 1

We managed to stay undetected as there was enough steam to keep us covered. However, as we got nearer the inside of the volcano, our ballon stopped working as the air inside was as hot as outside.

Our balloon crashed and luckily we crash landed on the island in the middle of the volcano and not in the boiling lake that surrounded it.

"There goes our only chance to get off this island," I mumbled as we three stood up from the ground. The balloon was completely destroyed, there was no chance this thing would work again.

"We'll figure something out later," Sokka said as I dusted myself off. It was fricking hot there.

"I suspected it might be a one-way ticket," Sokka added and I stopped in my tracks as he walked up to the balloon.

"You knew this would happen and you wanted to come anyway?" Zuko asked as he followed Sokka.

"My dad might be here. I had to come and see," my brother said, eying the balloon and thinking about what to do with it.

"Uncle always said, I never thought things through, but this," Zuko put his hands on his head, "This is just crazy!" He let out a groan and threw his hands on the air.

"Hey, I never wanted you to come along in the first place. And for the record, I always think things thorugh," Sokka argued and I crossed my arms, raising an eyebrow. "But my plans haven't exactly worked, so this time I'm playing it by ear."

My brother put his hands on the balloon but immediatly pulled them away, hissing in pain. Zuko went up to him as Sokka kicked the balloon into the lake.

"Now there really goes our only escape chance," I mumbled as Zuko knitted his eyebrows, glaring at my brother.

"What are you doing?" He asked.

"It doesn't work anyway, and we don't want anyone to find it."

"I hope you know what you're doing," Zuko mumbled and I shook my head. "There's no turning back now."

I can't believe we actually managed to sneak into the prison and get some of the clothes, the guards were wearing. They even had helmets on which was good since no one would or could recognise us.

"I swear if these disguises don't work, I'm gonna throw you into the lake Sokka. These helmets are uncomfortable," I grumbled and tried to move the helmet around in order to find a more comfortable position.

"We just need to lay low and find dad as soon as possible," Sokka whispered and Zuko nodded as I tensed when I heard footsteps coming our way.

Many guards were running past our corridor and just when I thought they wouldn't see us, one stopped. "Guards, there's a scuffle in the yard, come on," he called out to us.

We nodded before following the others to the yard.

All the prisoners were surrounding two people as we squished through them to see and stop what was going on.

"I didn't do anything, I'm going back to my cell," the prisoner said and turned on his heels.

"Stop right there, Chit Sang," a guard said and pulled out a fire whip.

Zuko wanted to step in but my brother grabbed his arm. "We can't blow our cover," he whispered and Zuko nodded and stopped.

"I've had it with you unrurly behaviour," the guard said and it seemed like he was of a higher rank.

"What did I do?" the prisoner asked. He was tall and muscular and probably in his 40ies or 50ies.

The guard turned to us as he stood directly in front of us. "He wants to know what he did. Isn't that cute?" he told us, pointing in Chit Sang's direction.
