Episode 18, Sozin's Comet: Part 1: The Phoenix King
Aang had been working even harder on mastering firebending since the stupid play, even though he wasn't going to fight the Fire Lord in three days when Sozin's comet was coming.
Zuko was also stricter and harder on Aang. "More ferocious. Imagine striking through your opponents heart!" Zuko stood beside Aang with crossed arms and watched him firebend.
The rest of us also watched Aang but a bit farther away. Well, I was watching Aang. Katara made some watermelon juice, Toph laid on the ground with her feet off the ground and Sokka and Suki sat beside each other talking.
Aang let out a groan. "I'm trying."
Zuko ignored him. "Now let me hear you roar like a tigerdillo!" Zuko's voice was firm and Aang immdiately did as he was told. He stretched out his arms to each side with an open palm and roared. Fire came out of his palms and his mouth.
I giggled at his roar because it sounded so harmless.
"That sounded pathetic. I said roar!" Zuko yelled at Aang. He flinched slightly but gave more power into his roar. This time the fire shot out stronger and his roar sounded like an actual roar.
Zuko nodded briefly and I clapped with a smile on my face. Aang grinned at me and I shot him a thumbs up.
"Who wants a nice cool glass of watermelon?" Katara spoke up and showed us her freshly made juice with a smile on her face.
Aang's ears perked up and he whipped his head in Katara's direction. His face lit up. "Oh me, me, me!"
He ran up to us but he didn't get far. Zuko grabbed his shirt and stopped him. "Hey, your lesson's not over yet. Get back here!" He pulled Aang back.
"Come on Zuko. Just take a break. What's the big deal?" Suki asked before taking a sip of the juice.
Zuko let go of the Avatar's shirt and crossed his arms. "Fine," he huffed out and Aang immediately ran up to Katara and took a glass. "If you wanna lounge around all day, then go ahead." Without another word he turned around and left.
"I'll be right back," I said and got up, following Zuko.
"Hey, wait up!" I called out to him as he was walking down the path to the beach and I was jogging up to him. He stopped and turned around. I couldn't stop in time and ran into him. If it wasn't for Zuko grabbing my arm, I would've fallen on the ground when I stumbled back.
"What?" Zuko asked and let go of my arm when he was sure I wouldn't fall.
"Don't stress about training so much. Take a break for once, you're overworking yourself and poor Aang." I grabbed his hand and we walked down the rest of the path to the beach.
"We don't have enough time to take breaks," Zuko argued and pressed his hand on his forehead. "We can take breaks after we defeated my father."
"Don't worry, time is not running away. As soon as-"
"What do you mean time is not running away?!" Zuko exclaimed and let go of my hand. "The comet is in three days. How can all of you be so relaxed?!" He threw his arms in the air.
I blinked and looked at him. "Wait, we're not fighting the Fire Lord before the comet," I slowly said but he didn't even listen as he turned around when he heard the others having a beach party.
Zuko balled his fists and ran up to the others. My eyes widened when I realized we forgot to tell him that we won't be fighting the Fire Lord before the comet. Quickly running after him, I called out his name.
