Chapter 24 (Evil Lurks In The Dark)
(Matthew)
I sat in my house alone. It was quiet, so unbearably quiet. The house was dark, the only light I could see were the street lights by the road. I bounced my knee out of nerves and dread.
Running my hands through my hair I was tempted to rip it out. I inhaled deeply, before I could exhale I stood up and yelled. Picking up a lamp I threw it at the wall.
Anything sitting out on any surface became the weapons I used for target practice. Nothing was safe in my way. Everything I could get my hands on was destroyed in anger.
Before I knew it my entire house was wrecked. I looked around breathing heavily. Guilt and anger came crashing back from years past.
"Phillip, is still alive." I spoke breaking the silence.
I stared at a vault that sat on the far side of the living room, the silence crept back slowly into my mind once more.
(Phillip)
Elise and I walked through the garden arm in arm. It almost seemed like a dream to me still. I couldn't believe someone as beautiful as her could accept someone like me.
I was pondering all of this deep in thought, when suddenly I felt Elise stop walking. I looked back to see her staring at me.
"What is it, my angel?" I asked placing a hand on her cheek.
"You seem very deep in thought." She commented.
"Oh, yes, I was wondering how someone as beautiful as you fell in love with me." I admitted.
"Well, that's simple, you are beautiful inside and out, you are you. Because you are you, I fell in love with you." She explained with the most beautiful smile on her face.
I chuckled at her explanation and leaned down to kiss her.
"You are truly the most remarkable person I've met." I spoke barely above a whisper.
"You're the most remarkable person I've met!" She giggled.
"Oh and I forgot to mention Jonathan is coming tomorrow to practice with me, and after that he's practicing with other cast members." She announced.
"Oh, Jonathan." I huffed.
"Do I sense a little jealousy?" She smirked.
Her eyes sparkled as she stared up at me. The most irresistible smirk was placed across her beautiful lips. I bit my lip trying to resist kissing her.
"Perhaps." I tried not to crack a smile but was failing miserably.
"Yes I do sense jealously it's clear as day." She poked my sides tickling me as I laughed uncontrollably.
(Elise)
I had never heard him laugh like that and it was possibly the most beautiful sound in the world. He grabbed my wrists stopping me and with a serious face was about to lean in and kiss me.
I quickly pulled myself from his grasp and ran away laughing. Hearing footsteps quickly come up behind me, I felt to giant arms grab my waist lifting me off the ground.
"Did you think you could get away from me that easily?" I could hear the smirk in his voice.
"Yeah I kind of did." I laughed.
He set me down on the ground. Spinning me around to face him he caught my lips with his. We parted and Phillip smirked at me.
"So, why are you jealous of Jonathan?" I asked smugly.
