Chapter 11 (What Is A Ghost To Do?)
(Phillip)
'I have to give up this charade, but how?' I thought while sitting at Renee's desk.
I got up and began to pace back and forth through Renee's office.
"Phillip darling, please stop pacing, you're making me nervous!" Renee scolded.
"Well that makes two of us, Renee!" I retorted.
Renee looked up at me from her paper work and carefully laid her reading glasses on the desk.
"Dear, I realize you're scared about all of this, I'm nervous too, but Elise is a wonderful young lady. I think the sooner she finds out about you the better." Renee explained.
"I know she is wonderful." I sighed blushing slightly.
"Did you hear anything past her being wonderful?" Renee giggled.
"Yes!" My face grew even more red. "Renee I will end all of this, but you have to make her promise to keep me existing, a secret." I ordered.
"Alright Phillip, I will ask her to keep you secret, for now." She replied.
(Elise)
Amanda and I continued walking throughout the opera house searching for the "ghost". We searched through several rooms. We entered one room filled with old boxes covered in dust. I opened one up and searched through it's contents. I picked up a picture of Renee and a man with a little girl.
'Who are these people with Renee?' I wondered. 'She looks so happy.'
"Hey Elise! Come over here!" Amanda shouted from across the room.
"What is it?" I asked walking over towards her.
"Look at this." She commanded.
It looked like clothes for a young boy. Upon further inspection Amanda and I noticed blood on the clothes, and what looked to be burn marks. They were covered in dried mud.
"What are these doing here?" I pondered aloud.
"I have no idea, but whoever these belonged to must have been really injured." Amanda stated.
I searched through the box that Amanda found the old clothes in. There were even more clothes, but they were in much better shape than the bloodied clothes. Towards the bottom of the box there were several masks. I held one up and Amanda took it from me.
"Maybe these were from previous plays here." Amanda suggested.
"Possibly, but I feel like there is more to this than meets the eye." I replied, Amanda nodded her head agreeing.
A clap of thunder caused us to jump slightly. I walked over to the window of the old room, looking down I noticed the garden outside. The lamps lighting up the garden as rain fell over the landscape.
"Hey, wanna visit the garden tomorrow once the rain clears?" I asked.
"Garden?" Amanda raised and eyebrow in confusion.
"It's a secret garden, I saw something out there once." I revealed.
"Yes!" She shouted.
We decided to call it a night, and hit the hay. My mind was still buzzing with so many questions. I tried to find answers tonight, but ended up with more questions. Who did those clothes and masks belong to? Who were the people in the photo with Renee, and where are they now?
