"Come on Ali, you need this."

It was Friday, about 2 weeks since my audition and Mya and I were on our way to get lunch. There's a homecoming game tonight so school ended early and she's been begging me to go all day.

I purposely stayed clear of any and everything football to avoid their dipshit captain, Greyson.

I hate to admit it, but Mya was right. I was in desperate need of a break. Believe me, I was overjoyed when I found out I got the part I auditioned for, but practice tripled and so did my assignments. I was a mess.

"I don't know M, tonight's a really good window to catch up on work with classes ending early and no practice."

"Well I think that this a perfect opportunity for you to loosen up a bit, so you won't feel so burned out when you tackle your shit ton of assignments."

"Fine." I sigh, finally giving in. Mya gives a wide cheesy grin. "But only because I really like the corndogs they sell at their games."

"Okayyyy and done." I turn to Mya who just finished putting on a yet another layer of mascara on her eyelashes.

"You look hot M. But why do we need to put on make up at a homecoming game? We're only gonna be standing up screaming in the stands for like 2 hours." I question.

"Because... it saves us time when we come back here to get ready." She says obviously.

"Ready? Ready for what M."

"The homecoming party of course." She says with a mischievous grin.

"Oh no, no, no, you never said anything about a party. I agreed to come to the homecoming game and that was all."

"You didn't, but a homecoming game isn't a homecoming game without an after party. It's like an unspoken rule; a package deal even."

When she takes in my expression she sighs, and continues a bit more sincerely, her eyes pleading. Something Mya absolutely never does.

"Come on Als it's a Friday night, you don't even have to drink just enjoy yourself...well maybe just one drink. Please?"

Do I ever have a choice?

"Okay, okay. Just one drink." I can almost never tell her no. She squeals giving me a quick hug, again something she never does, before she lets go.

"Okay come on we're gonna be late."

I knock on Lilith's door right before we leave, entering after receiving permission to do so.

"Hey Lils, you sure you don't wanna come to the game?"

She looks up from her phone before answering. "Nah I'm good, my friends and I are going to the roller skating rink tonight," she says with a shrug.

"Oh okay cool."

"Don't sound so bummed out, I have plenty more homecoming games ahead of me. Now shoo, have fun!" she exclaims, pushing me out of her room.

"You only gave two more!" I shout from the other side of the door, already in the hallway. "And be safe!"

I walk downstairs to head to the car walking past my mom and dad in the living room who're watching a film.

"Mya and I are headed to the game now. See you guys later."

"See you later honey." My dad says.

"You two look beautiful." My mom shouts.

She was definitely right about that. I wore a simple red cropped hoodie, with a black mini skirt that hugged my ass. Mya wore a white sleeveless crop top with a black cargo pants, and finished the look with an oversized red flannel, us both showcasing the school's colors.

"I'll find us some seats." Mya shouts over the crowd.

"Sure I'll get us some food." I reply, Mya nods and heads over to the stands.

I head into a huge wave of people that's supposed to be a concession stand.

What happened to lines people?

For once I'm grateful for being tiny and flexible, because I easily weave my way through the crowd and to the front.

What? I wasn't gonna stand there and be pushed over.

I quickly order a corndog, for myself, a large popcorn and two waters. It was a bit difficult to hold everything in my hands, so I placed the waters in the pocket of my hoodie.

I walk over to the stands in search for Mya who's waving frantically to get my attention. I make my way up, handing her her popcorn and water before taking a seat. We didn't come here early, so I have no idea how Mya got us such good seats with a perfect view of the field.

I take a bite of my corndog, turning to the field enjoying the long awaited savory goodness. I smile with content looking down at where the players are now emerging from the locker rooms and onto the field. I spot Jacob, and a few other familiar faces getting in their positions. I also see an irritated Greyson, eyes scanning the crowd. Well, he always looks irritated if we're being honest, so his normal face, clenching and unclenching his jaw subconsciously.

God that's so hot.

His eyes continue to scan the crowd, then locking with mine and they soften, only for a second. I hold his gaze, my eyebrows drawing together in confusion, but I refuse to back down. He tears his gaze away from mine, looking around, suddenly remembering his surroundings. He glances at me one more time, and smirks before putting on his helmet and getting in position.
