The beginning of the fourth quarter had already started when I head back down to the still packed concession stand for another water.

We were no doubt going to win being up by fourteen points. There's no way that the other team will be able to score two touchdowns in one quarter. It's not impossible no, I mean it kinda is for them at least. Our defense won't even give them a chance to get the ball halfway across the field. Their plays are really good too, I guess they have Greyson to thank for that. I heard he's great at making and executing them.

Fucking smart ass.

I'm on my way back up to the stands, when in the corner of my eye I spot Kevin...under the bleachers? I go to call out to him only to realize he's swallowing the face of some other guy I've never seen before.

Okayyyy, moving on.

I'm about to take my seat when Mya jumps out of hers screaming as the crowd cheers, scaring the shit out of me since I didn't exactly know what was going on at the moment.

"Did you see that?" She says wide eyed pointing towards the field.

"Of course I did, I walked up the bleachers backwards." I say sarcastically.

Mya rolled her eyes, excitement still in them. "Jacob just scored the last touchdown!"

"That's amazing!" I exclaim, I observed her for a moment as she watches the team cheer and gather around on the field. Her eyes focused on a specific player.

"You really like him don't you M?"

"What?" She tears her gaze away from Jacob looking back at me. "I keep telling you Als I don't like Jacob."

"Says the girl whose had her eyes zeroed in on him the whole time he was out on the field. It's okay to admit it M, I promise." She just shakes her head.

"Come on, we have a party to get ready for."

I walk into Kevin's house, which is freaking huge by the way, immediately struck with a wave of heat and blasting music. Hot, sweaty bodies all mingled together, limbs entangled; grinding on each other.

Who wasn't already drunk were well on their way. Red solo cups were everywhere. I saw a few people passed out on the lawn when I came in, but there were definitely a lot more inside. The stoners were in the backyard, I doubt they knew that themselves though. They were probably on Pluto by now.

Mya and I weaved our way through the crowd and into the kitchen. There were less people in here, just a few couples sucking off each other's faces.

Hello? Single lives matter.

"Here." Mya hands me a red solo cup, chugging hers down.

"What's this?" I shout over the blaring music, as I inspect the liquid.

"One drink," is all she says with a mischievous grin. I sip the liquid, it's really sweet, I can barely taste any alcohol.

"This is good. Really good." I say.

She shrugs with a proud smile, "I try."

I drink the rest of the seemingly harmless liquid, placing my cup down deeming I'm done for the night. An all too familiar song erupts from the speakers, and Mya and I turn to each other with the same expression on our faces.

We leave the kitchen, making our way to the living room to dance our life away. I sway my hips to the beat, running my hand all along my dress. In this moment, I absolutely loved Mya for picking out this sparkly black dress for me. It had a deep V cut, revealing a lot of cleavage, with thin spaghetti straps, and my back completely exposed.

I move easily in this dress, feeling as free as I look, letting my stress from the past few weeks melt away. The music suddenly starts to feels more intense and the room begins to swirl a little. The bass of the beat starting to sound like my heartbeat.

"Myaaaa...what did I drink?"

"Enough." she giggles.

"Mya I'm serious." I whine.

"Just a little drink that was enough to get you tipsy, it wears off in about an hour. I figured that should be enough time for you to let loose a bit." She says simply.

I stare at her, "Mya that's not funny who's supposed to drive if we both get really messed up?"

"I'm the designated driver tonight. We'll be fine. I'm heading to the bathroom. Don't move."

Yeah sure.

I head back to kitchen where there are less people, and more drinks. I walk by a very drunk Kevin who lazily smiles down at me.

"Hey Als, nice party you should— hiccup— throw parties more often," he slurs. I laugh at him, knowing he's going to feel like a bucket of shit tomorrow.

"I definitely will. You're invited! You... too..." I trail off pointing to the guy with Kevin, who's now sloppily sucking his face off, and definitely not the one from an hour ago.

And they say romance is dead.

In the kitchen, I barely manage to pour myself a cup of clear liquid without toppling over. I slugged it down my throat and it freaking burned. Was it vodka? tequila? I wasn't even sure at this point, all I knew was that I'm completely drunk now, but I don't care.

I feel so light and happy, I don't know why I hesitated coming to this party.

I attempted to walk to the backyard but I slammed face first into a wall almost landing flat on my ass. I didn't though, and it wasn't until I felt warm arms engulf my waist that I realize it wasn't a wall, but a guy.

"Thank—hiccup—you," I barely manage out to my saviour that I have yet to recognize. My vision is so hazy I can't even count my fingers. "Oooo you're handsome."

I hear a scoff and I don't even need a clear perception to know who's arms I'm in. I groan and push myself away from Greyson.

"Great—hiccup— dickface is here,"

"You're drunk."

"No shit dipshit."

"Too drunk, come on," he attempts to grab my wrist but I yank away.

"Why do I have—hiccup—to come with you? This is a party,—hiccup—I came to have fun."

"You're coming with me because you're drunk. You can barely see let alone walk. We're not arguing about any of this. Let's go."

I don't even bother fighting him. He picks me up bridal style and the last thing I see is him shaking his head in disappointment before the world fades to black.
