"There's been an increase in Cassidy's brain activity for the last week Jack, and I'm not sure what to tell you, other than we are unsure what is causing it, but it is a great thing...a great thing indeed" the Dr says, sitting opposite my dad in his office, a floor below mine.

"I noticed that she's moving more too" My Dad says, biting on his knuckles nervously, his eyes darting around the room in a nervous manner. "I've felt her hand move three times this week in mine" he adds "I think she's coming back Dr. I think Cassidy...is making her way back to us"

I place my hand on my Dad's knee, and smile at his profile, and then hopeful, back to the Dr opposite. "You know I can't make promises Jack or offer any sort of personal opinion, but as a friend and not the Dr at the facility...It is my opinion that Cassidy is showing all the signs that we are looking for. She is having localized responses to touch, and we think sound also...she seemed to react to Gloria last night and on multiple occasions her head moved towards her voice."

"What" my Dad asked, leaning forward in shock at this news.

"Yes Jack, last night" the Dr added again.

"I wasn't here" my Dad whispered with agitation "I was at that stupid dinner" He said, holding his hand to his temple.

"Jack it won't be the last time...you've been here every night for a year and a half. Don't beat yourself up"

"Should I tell Katherine" he asks, standing now and pacing the small office.

"It's up to you Jack...if you want to leave it a few days and see how she goes... I would understand your hesitancy...especially with the way Katherine is" he adds, standing and placing a hand on my Dad's shoulder. "Its good news Jack" he says again, evoking a smile from my Father.

"Thank you Doc" he replies, leaving the room, with me following after.

I follow my Father back to my room and sit and watch intently as he speaks with my physical form in the bed. He holds my hand in one hand and strokes my brow with his other. "Cassidy I'm here...Daddy's here baby" he says softly.

I feel a tear prick my eyes at his words, and I follow his gaze to my face. I had no idea my physical body was making progress. I had spent my nights with Sarah on the roof top, and less and less in the room with my body. I sat and wondered what it was that had changed , and the obvious answer was...

"Sarah" my Dad acknowledged, before I can even think it. I turn to where he is looking, and find Sarah in the doorway.

"Hi Mr Colonel" she greets, smiling.

She notes my presence by looking my way cautiously, and winking, before returning her gaze to my Dad, he was now back to looking at my body in the bed, watching me closely for any signs of life.

Sarah moves to the opposite side of the bed to my Father, and he looks up to her as she places a small box on the covers beside me.

"What is that Sarah" my dad asks curiously.

"I will show you" she says, taking a glass dome from the box, reaching over to the light switch on the wall, and turning the lights off.

"Okay" my Dad returns with a laugh, before the room lights up with twinkling white stars adorning the walls and the ceiling.

"Wow" my Dad and I both say in unison.

Sarah looks to me in the darkness, and smiles at the awe on my face as I lift my eyes to the ceiling. "Cassidy always had an affinity with the stars" he whispers, looking around the room with a smile.

"How did you know" he asks.

Sarah turns the light back on, and places the dome beside the snow globe that is now also on my bedside cabinet. "I remembered something Blair said" she lied.
