"Hey" Blair greets, watching me enter Cassidy's room.
She is standing haphazardly on a stool, whilst attempting to decorate the room with a colourful banner.
I move quickly to her side and catch her as she falls to the left. "Oh fluff it" she curses, beginning to laugh at herself. She unpicks herself from the tangle that she has got into and I push her into a standing position on the stool again.
"What am I witnessing" Cassie asks, appearing beside me.
"Blair, what on earth are you doing" I ask, whilst Cassie and I roll our eyes and glance at her butt above us.
"This room is literally a drag fest...why would Cass want to wake up to this mortuary" she asks, attaching another photo to the colourful banner.
The banner is finally doing as it's told, and sitting pretty above the chair. "I sure as hell wouldn't want to wake up to this" Blair states, looking at the rest of the room and making a heaving noise whilst pretending to stick her finger down her throat.
"She thinks it's the room" Cassie mused out loud, beginning to laugh.
"I think, that it is perhaps more than the lack of decoration in the room keeping your sister in a coma" I suggested to Blair.
Blair whips around with a death stare "Sarah...I know that...I meagrely suggest that this may help entice her out"
"It won't" Cassie replies, taking the seat opposite and watching the back and forth.
I find myself smiling uncontrollably at her, her immaculately straight hair is pulled back slightly, exposing her neck. I find my eyes linger on the bare skin above her collar bone and sigh whilst biting my bottom lip. Cassie notes my expression and a knowing smile creeps onto her lips as she pulls her hair back into place, covering the flesh my eyes are poised upon.
"Earth to Sarah" Blair says, clicking her fingers beside me.
I jump slightly, and Cassie laughs from the chair as Blair whips a rainbow banner over my head.
I reach up for it with both hands and throw it back at Blair "Stop it" I squeal, as a box of confetti is dumped over my head.
Cassie and Blair fall about laughing, deep and delightful belly laughs that are completely contagious.
Mr Colonel finds the chaotic scene in front of him, appearing in the door and beginning to laugh himself, at the tears escaping Blair's eyes as she watches me pull confetti out of my dark hair. "I needed that" he whispers. "I've missed your laugh Blair bear"
Blair straightens herself out, and walks over to her dad with open arms. "I love you Daddy" she whispers.
I watch Cassie come behind them, and wrap her arms around them both. "I love you both" she whispers.
"You know, for a second there, when I was coming up the corridor...I could have sworn I heard Cassidy laughing with you" Jack tells us.
He releases Blair's arms. "Silly I know" he adds, glancing to the sleeping form in the bed.
"Not silly Dad. I felt the same way...it was like she was here for a moment"
"Maybe she was" I suggest, looking to them both.
They both look to me with the same expression of curiosity, and then train their eyes on Cassidy in the bed. "Perhaps" Jack whispers...."Perhaps" he repeats, in thought.
"Now Blair, clean this room up before Gloria sees it, and then I'll take you home...Mom has a few jobs for me before memorial weekend hits" he says, opening the door to the hall.
