Chapter 13 - Hide and Seek

Chapter Thirteen:

While eating together:

Prachi: "And yes, amidst all this, don't forget about Pravya. Her story isn't over yet."
Ranbir: (confused) "Why?"

Prachi: "I have more to accomplish, and for that, I need to continue being Pravya in front of everyone. Ranbir, promise me you won't tell anyone that I'm Prachi. This secret must stay between us."

Ranbir: (placing his hand over hers reassuringly) "I promise, this secret will remain just between us. And I promise to support you from now on. You're not alone in this mission anymore. I'll be with you-not just as your husband, but also as Pravya's best friend forever."

Prachi: (teasing) "Don't forget your promise to Pravya-she's your best friend forever."
Ranbir: (pulling her cheeks playfully) "I won't forget. Pravya will always be my best friend forever."

They shared a smile, spent some time together, and then headed to the Kohli mansion.

At the Kohli Mansion:

They entered quietly, taking small, cautious steps. Suddenly, the lights switched on, and they froze in their tracks.
Prachi quickly let go of Ranbir's hand and stepped away.
It was Dida who had turned on the lights.

Dida: (confused) "Ranbir, Pravya, where are you two coming from?"
Ranbir: "Dida, uh... actually, we're coming back from the office."

Dida: "Then why are you both dressed so nicely?"
Prachi: "Dida, we had an office party, that's why."

Dida: (smiling) "Oh, alright. Go and get some rest."
Ranbir & Prachi: "Okay, Dida."

They headed to their rooms.

In Ranbir's Room (or should we say Pranbir's Room):

Prachi emerged from the washroom wearing something different.

Ranbir was mesmerized and completely lost in her beauty.
She walked up to him and snapped her fingers to bring him back to reality.

Prachi: "Ranbir! What's wrong?"
Ranbir: "What? I'm just admiring your beauty."

Prachi: "Beauty? Seriously? It's just a night suit!"
Ranbir: (sliding his hands around her waist and pulling her close) "You don't realize how beautiful you look in every outfit."

Prachi: (blushing) "Leave me, Ranbir."
Ranbir: (smirking) "No, not tonight."

Prachi: "If you don't let go, I'll kick you!"
Ranbir: (pretending to be scared) "Oh, alright. Let's sleep."
As Prachi moved toward the couch, Ranbir stopped her.

Ranbir: "Where are you going?"
Prachi: "To sleep."

Ranbir: "Why the couch? Sleep with me. I want to hug you while we sleep tonight."
Prachi: "But Ranbir, if anyone finds out, it'll be a problem."

Ranbir smirked, locked the door, closed the windows, and returned to her.

Ranbir: "What about now?"
Prachi rolled her eyes, placed her hand on her forehead, and before she could react, Ranbir pulled her onto the bed. The screen blurred, giving them privacy.

The Next Morning:

Ranbir woke up first and saw Prachi sleeping peacefully in his arms.
He couldn't believe he had his Prachi back.
Feeling guilty for his past harsh words, he decided to apologize soon.

Ranbir: (kissing her forehead) "Good morning, Chickchiki."
Prachi: (waking up and smiling) "Good morning, Baklu."

As she got up, Ranbir asked:

Ranbir: "Where are you going so early?"
Prachi: "I'm not just Prachi anymore; I'm also a police officer. I have work to do."

Ranbir: "You know, Prachi, I still can't wrap my head around it. How did you become a police officer? I mean, it's such a drastic shift.
You've got to tell me everything."

Prachi: (smiling gently) "It's a long story, Ranbir.
Are you sure you're ready for this?"
Ranbir: (playfully) "Of course!
You can't leave me hanging.
Tell me everything-right from the start."

Prachi: (sighing and beginning) "After... after that day when everyone thought I was gone, something unexpected happened.
I wasn't trying to end my life, Ranbir.
I was hit by a truck, and I fell into a river."

Ranbir: (shocked and holding her hand) "What?
A truck?
And a river?"

Prachi: "Yes, Ranbir. It was terrifying. I thought my life was truly over, but I was saved-by Commissioner Ma'am.
She pulled me out of the water and gave me a second chance."

Ranbir: (a mix of relief and guilt) "Thank God she found you.
And here I was, thinking the worst... blaming myself."

Prachi: (placing her hand over his) Don't blame yourself.
If anything, that incident made me stronger. Commissioner Ma'am took me under her wing.
She trained me, guided me, and eventually, I decided to join the police force.
I wanted to help others and fight for justice."

Ranbir: (in awe) "So that's why you're wearing that badge today.
You've been through so much, Prachi.
You're incredible."

Prachi: (smiling) "It wasn't easy, Ranbir. I had to start a new life as Pravya.
But with Ma'am's support, I found a purpose.
And now, I'm here, not just as Pravya, but as someone who's ready to take on anything for the sake of justice."

Ranbir: (hugging her) "I'm so proud of you, Prachi. You're not just my wife-you're my hero."
Prachi: (teasing) "Well, it's not every day that a husband calls his wife his hero.
I guess I'll take that as a compliment."

Ranbir: (laughing softly) "It's the truth.
And from now on, I'll be right beside you, no matter what."
The scene ends with them sharing a tender moment, Ranbir looking at Prachi with newfound admiration and Prachi feeling a sense of fulfillment in finally sharing her story.

As she headed to the washroom, Ranbir teased:

Ranbir: "Should I join you?"
Prachi: (pushing him playfully) "No!"
After 10 minutes, Prachi emerged in her formal attire. Ranbir also got ready, and they went to the dining hall.

At the Dining Hall:

Ranbir and Prachi sat together, much to the annoyance of MC and her sidekick, Naagin.
While eating, Prachi suddenly felt nauseous and rushed to the washroom to vomit.
Ranbir, confused, followed her and patted her back.
