Love y'all - Dawn580

Flying around New York heading toward a new clone facility was an experience in itself; the whole city is in ruins; it's a battlefield. My heart aches in my chest seeing the amount of homelessness throughout the city, the death toll rolling in my head that Brooklyn had mentioned before leaving.

Looking around as we fly, helicopters flying behind us, we look like a terrifying force of seven Gargoyles and several helicopters full of humans with guns and military power making me frown for a second. This isn't how it's supposed to be; we're supposed to be protectors but not destroyers; we shouldn't have the power to kill and decide if someone should live or die. Though I have those opinions, I don't think it matters, for now, considering the world is at war with Xanatos pretty much making the U.S his base and military power, using North Korea and their allies as extensions to his ability.

This is why I have to go home; I have to make it back to my time; this shouldn't have happened; this isn't the future I have foreseen.

The longer I stay in this reality, the more I see the future here, and it's not good.

We finally land sporadically on the upper levels of the facility when no disturbance so far making me raise an eyebrow, my heart pounding in my chest, no one moving. Brooklyn holds his hand in a first no one moving, we were expecting a welcome commit, but no one is here.

"Everyone, get down!" I scream, throwing up a shield one second to late bullets ranging down clones popping up out of nowhere. Humans start dying rapidly, making me frown; Brooklyn looks at me, shocked as I hold strugglingly my hazed purple shield with the number of bullets hitting It as well as lasers.

"Brooklyn, I can't hold it," I tell him making him nod to everyone diving out of the wayfinding a spot to shelter, humans and Gargoyles now shooting down clones and vice versa. The burden of leadership is a heavy toll, I suppose, I can prove to Brooklyn that I'm still capable. That I can save everyone, and there can be a different future. Looking into the future a little, I see where Thailog and Demona are in the castle giving Brooklyn a glance, who is busy with the current situation and will be for a few minutes.

Seeing an open door into the main facility, I bolt towards it, holding my shield out a little in front of me, keeping me safe from bullets. "Delphi No!" I hear behind me, looking back, seeing Brooklyn wide-eyed from his crouched position as bullets fire away around us, giving him a sad smile. The door shuts, leaving me in a fluorescent hallway, making me take a deep breath.

All I have to do is get Demona and Thailog out of here, destroy the clone information, and not die; yeah, totally feasible. Pulling out my bow staff, keeping to the shadows the best I can, avoiding patrols, I get to the prison cells seeing a lone Gargoyle sitting in the farthest one.

"Mom" is all I can say, making the redhead look up with wide eyes, never having called her that out loud before "Delphi," the woman jumps up, hands gripping the bars reaching for me. She wears golden armor, not looking a day older than the last time I saw her, tears weld up in her eyes as well as mine.

"How are you here? Where is Goliath? Does Brooklyn know you're here?" she rambles, making me smile as I blast the lock pushing the door and wrapping my arms around her.
