A Night To Remember

It's been about a month Since the incident, Brooklyn and the trio have been extremely helpful through this process, they kinda made me a bedroom in the clock tower with a bed and closet so I can have clothes here to change into.

I started a part time job with the Police department as Elisa's assistant learning her ways on the force so I can be a detective someday too as the captain says. I still take photos now more than ever since I have access to a whole new world during the day which is amazing. I bring Brooklyn gifts from the world during the day which he seems to enjoy, Brooklyn has been bringing me flowers and gifts that he finds while we're out patrolling and what not.

I had fallen asleep after working with Elisa a little bit today looking for some type of beast that's been terrorizing the city since the beginning of the month. waking up when I hear the others awaken I rub my eyes seeing I'm back to normal again making me smile. the trio walk in looking excited "Del tonights the night" Broadway says jumping down so we're on the same floor but I still have to question "What's tonight again?" I ponder making them give me a look "You know what tonight is"

"Of course I do, y'all can't stop talking about it every night since Elisa told us about it" I tell them standing up and stretching "What are you going to be?" Lexington asks as he starts putting on his pilot costume, Broadway is dressing as a Detective which is ironic and Brooklyn is a pirate which totally fits his character. But for me, I'm going to be my little old self, I put some jeans on still being in my gargoyle form but going for the part. I put on a loose tank top that allows my wings out with a baseball cap and my camera.

"I'm a photographer!" I exasperated making the boys laugh finishing up his costume, I walked over to Brooklyn helping him with his red bandana deep in thought not realising he was talking to me "What Red?" I ask him to pay attention this time "tonights going to be fun" he repeats making me nod "I think it will be fun".

After all of us finish getting ready we start to head towards the carnival that is in the middle of town. Lots of people are gathered around still one block making me breathe deeply, what if someone sees us and knows we're not normal. what if we get exposed and then will be on the run for the rest of our lives, what if...

"Hey" I hear and look up seeing Brooklyn looking down at me "Get out of or head for one night and enjoy it, we'll be fine".

I chuckle a little my hand feeling my french braided hair "You seemed to read my mind"

"No I just know a certain expression you give" The red Gargoyle says taking my hand pulling me to different booths to play carnival games like ring toss and hit the balloon with the needle.

My acruicu for these games doesn't surprise me, I've always been pretty accurate making the worker a little mad as I win several stuffed animals.

the trio and I sit together at a booth getting funnel cake and caramel apples laughing together, everything seems normal and this is what I needed right now. After everything with Puck and Now my human duties I needed a night of normalcy.

"Hey look at goliath and Elisa" Lex says making us all look up at them seeing them slow dance with other couples making me smile. I feel a tug on my arm looking up seeing brooklyn smile at me "C'mon let's go dance".

I smile back and stand up handing my camera to Broadway starting to take our pictures as we walk to the center of the street. Brooklyn held my right hand and sets my left on his shoulder with his on my waist pulling me to him making my cheeks warm a little. We step back and forth twirling a little every now and then but the thing is Brooklyn watches me the whole time not worrying about anything but us. I smile at him and chest my head against his chest as he wraps his wings around us and I wrap mine around him. This moment I wouldn't give up for in the world, this is what happiness feels like here with Lexington and broadway but most importantly Brooklyn with normalcy We've never had the privilege of.

the time we started dancing feels like hours ago but not long enough as we suddenly hear a scream as people run out of a building. I let go of Brooklyn pulling out my boi staff before telling us to not go in that Elisa, Xanatos and him would handle it making me frown puting my boi staff away. "I don't like this" I tell the guys as they all nod wanting to help also somehow. Suddenly Goliath is thrown out of the building with all of us running to him seeing the creature climb up a building with now the purple gargoyle following behind. Broadway starts to eat his hat out of stress but I clench my fist

"C'mon we can't let him do this alone" I tell them following after the two climbing and scaling the building. but by the time we all make it to the top of the building the fight is finished and we're heading back to the clock tower making me slightly sad.

we get our costumes off and the others are in their spots as I sit on the ledge that use to be my spot waiting for rise glancing at brooklyn "I wonder if tonight was as special to him as it was for me" I smile feeling arms wrap around "That dancing was pretty impressive I tell him hearing a chuckle "we should do it again some time he says sitting in his spot now as the sky gets brighter.

"What's the sun like?" He asks looking up questionable making me sign "It's bright, but warm, yellow, red and orange but also pink. It's so beautiful that it amazes me everytime it raises but I love the moon too with it's coolness and shadows.

"That's so beautiful" I hear him say before the sun shines brightly in my eyes making me squint and sigh "Not as beautiful as you red"
