"Do you even know how to laugh maniacally?"

Sometimes I'd like to think back to before the massacre and remember how easy life was at that moment and how much I took it for granted then. When the hardest part of life was protecting the castle and the humans from the Vikings when now we have guns and magic and a whole city that we're supposed to protect now. I think about my sisters and how they would have loved the adventures that I've experienced, I think about one who was a beautiful yellow color, she looked like the gargoyle version of a sunflower. We were close but that doesn't matter now I guess...

"When I said you were welcomed anytime I didn't anticipate a time during the day like this" I'm interrupted from my thoughts "I'm taking complete advantage of your hospitality David," I tell the long-haired man giving him a side-eye.

"That was my spot," I tell him pointing to one of the towers, the spot that was underneath Goliaths "I had picked that spot the day that I predicted my first event, a fire that almost destroyed the hillside".

Xanatos looks at me sadly making me sigh "I appreciate our little talks, David, having someone other than Elisa is helpful even though your actions are always very moral"

the man laughs patting me on the shoulder as the sun starts to set knowing I have a long night and didn't really sleep anytime today but that's the price I pay to come to visit the castle and reminisce on the past when I should leave it behind me, especially considering who I am.

"it's okay to miss what's gone, you just have to remember what you have now and don't lose sight of that," he says making me nod

"How is married life?" I ask him as we walk inside the castle Xanatos handing me a cup of coffee "It's as expected, how are you and Brooklyn doing?"

I spit my coffee and cough chocking on it making him laugh at my reaction "you can't deny your feeling for the red Gargoyle ya'll are adorable"

"I don't deny it and neither does he, but I'm worried that something bad will happen," I tell him making the conversation serious for a second "I've already lost so much, I don't think I would be able to keep doing this if we were separated."

"You can't let that stop you from loving and cherishing the time you have now" he says which is very hearty of him making me frown "That's very human of you to say, David, I didn't think you'd have it in you".

"Don't get used to it, now go see your man" Xanatos takes my mug pushing me out to the courtyard making me smile and start to head home.

landing on the ledge I head inside yawning "Hey Del where were you?" I hear broadway ask as I sit on my bed "Was taking care of a case, couldn't get back before dark"

"you were patroling with goliath and Brooklyn last night right?" Lex asks me as I lay down picking up a book "Yes I was, we didn't make it back before sunrise so I had to walk back, which wasn't the most optimal thing."

"Someone attacked us last night that looked and sounded just like Goliath" lex says making me look up from my book "Goliath was with Red and I all night, it was a very busy night, pretty exhausting".

"Then who was it that attacked us" I hear looking overseeing Elisa walk in making me raise an eyebrow "I'm not sure but it wasn't Goliath".

I start to go back to my book but this makes me puzzled, two goliaths so like what a doppelganger, I know some creatures have the ability to make themselves look like another but not here in New York.
