Authors note: Hey Everyone, I hope you will like the chapter, like and comment
"you get to experience this every day?" Brooklyn asks as we watch the sunrise his arm around me my head on his shoulder, both our long blonde hair flowing with the wind behind us. "Yes, it's quite the sight to see," I told him giving him a kiss on the cheek. We change into more street clothes for me jeans crop top and a bomber jacket and Brooklyn wears jeans, a white t-shirt, and a leather jacket and sunglasses making me smile.
We head down through the station sneaking around and giggling the whole time like it's some game even though most of the cops know who I am. Once we get outside, I take Brooklyn hand running with him down the street a huge smile on my face as cars race past us, I tell him about my favorite restaurants on the strip and my favorite coffee shop that Elisa, Matt, and I always go to because it reminds me so much of Scotland.
All while I babble Brooklyn watches me with a smile as I continue not to stop taking him into my coffee shop seeing the Barista that is always there behind the counter "Good Morning Jess".
"Ah Delphi, Your usual?" she says with a smile, she's a shorter woman with Red fiery hair and pale skin with freckles that lace every part of her face and arms. "Yes, and one for my friend here" I smile my arm wrapped around Brooklyn making the women smile at him "Oh is this Brooklyn?"
"Hello nice to meet you, Jess, right?" Brooklyn says holding out his hand as she takes it with a slight shake. She nods to me surprised mouthing a wow as I nod, We sit at a table near the window as I tell Brooklyn the latest cases that I can talk about without getting in trouble, Jess brings us our coffee's as she helps the next customer.
"Her name is Jessica Whitelock, her family is from Scotland," I tell him in a whisper which his eyes widen glancing at her. "she opened the coffee shop to make it feel more like home, and I couldn't agree with her more".
"I didn't know you had such a big life while we slept," he says taking sips of his coffee nodding to it indicating that he likes it. "Well it's not such a big life, I do still need to sleep myself every once in a while" I smile looking out the window at the people walking and cars driving by the feeling of satisfaction in my heart.
This right here is perfection
The way Brooklyn is across from me, the two of us sitting in direct sunlight, not having to save time or the world somehow at the moment.
"have you had to use your powers in a while? Brooklyn asks me as I shake my head a small smile on my face "It's been great, no prophecies, no rewinding time, no nothing" I say slightly knocking on the table as to not jinx it because knowing my luck that would happen.
"have you talked to Xanatos or Fox recently?" he asks taking a sip of his drink-making me look at him "No but honestly since seeing the doctor and having a heart-to-heart with him I don't feel as resentful towards him".
"It feels like a bad dream now," I say my face turning to a frown remembering that time, those 8 or so months trapped in my own head at the mercy of that monster, the image of Brooklyn popping into my head but I shake it away looking at him. The hear and now I remind myself taking his hand.
"A bad dream that will never come true"
"Come I want to take you to all the favorite spots of new york," I say pulling on his hand as we race out of the shop leaving an amused Jessica in our wake but we continue oblivious. I take him to all the touristy things of new york taking pictures of us and the town to use for my next art show somehow. We visit time square, the empire state building, the Brooklyn Bridge, we even visit my art pieces that have a show in the metropolitan museum of art.
