Winning the game against the Steelers was huge because now we were one step closer to reaching our goal. It was also huge because the game was on a Saturday and I wouldn't have to worry about football the next day. It all seemed to work out for me. Plus, since Dallas was also off that weekend, I figured why not go and surprise my guy.

So, I took my car and was driving my way to Dallas that Sunday. I was listening to a football show on the radio because I wasn't in the mood for church music and the football analysts that were on were discussing our win over the Steelers while also making predictions on the games that were being played today.

Halfway on my drive, one of the analysts came on the air with a breaking news story.

Analyst#1: So, there is a developing story out of the Cowboys camp and it concerns a secret gambling ring within the organization. A former Cowboys' employee who was fired prior to the start of the season, anonymously told investigators that members of the front office have paid players extra benefits if they could cause some serious injuries along the way. Now, the coaching staff and the organization has since denied this, but the NFL could be set to begin an investigation. What do you make of this situation?

Analyst #2: Well, I think it's disturbing to hear reports like that. After what happened with the New Orleans Saints with Bountygate years ago, one has to wonder whether the rest of the league has learned a lesson. If this is true, the Dallas Cowboys organization has to be ashamed of themselves especially given the season they are having. I would not want for this to be a problem as they wait to start their playoff run next week.

I was surprised to hear that the Cowboys could be having some kind of payment schemed where players hurt other players. This wasn't what my organization did nor did any others. As much as we want to beat each other in games, we never want players to get hurt. But, this was something that was of major concern.

My phone buzzed and I saw that Scout texted me.

Do you see what the Cowboys are doing? I hope Luke isn't involved with this?

Scout's text surprised me because although he was probably not Luke's biggest fan, he seemed to want me to be happy. And after the Kissgate drama from a few weeks ago, I think Scout was trying to defend me and make me and Luke a very happy couple to the public. Still, I hoped Luke wasn't doing this.

I arrived to Dallas and drove a few more minutes until I reached Arlington. Seeing the big stadium that the Cowboys had was a site to behold. I had to say I was very impressed with the building itself.  Once I made my way into the parking lot, I got out and walked in the building.

No one stopped me, so it was easy for me to go in. I knew where Luke's office was because he had given me a tour of the place when I was an intern visiting Arlington when the Cowboys were hosting the Bears. Walking through the hallway and being reminded of Cowboys glory from the past years, I finally reached Luke's office.

"I know this investigation is set to take place," I hear Luke on the phone with someone. "Yet, I don't want anything done until after the season. We've already dealt with the matter and we're focused on the playoffs. You write that down."

I knock on the door and Luke sees me. He smiles and motions me to come in.

"You tell the newspaper that this will be the last I will be talking about this until the season is over. Okay. Good bye!" He hangs up the phone.

"Well, that must've been some phone call," I say.

"These media peeps. They find some controversy, they get interested." Luke comes up and kisses me on the lips. "How are you doing?"
