Gordon

For a few nights after, we were the toast of the city as we had achieved our goal of getting to the Super Bowl. The fans were excited about this as were we. But as soon as Tuesday rolled around, we got back to work. The Super Bowl was going to be played in two weeks and we wanted to get a head start on our opponent, the Dallas Cowboys.

Dallas had defeated all but one opponent throughout the regular season. With the best record in the league, it was clear that they were going to be the favorites in the game. Their offense was explosive and the defense had given up the fewest points in the league. Brad Cummings was having the season of his life and most people expected him to win the league MVP.

None of that seemed to matter to me as I started to focus on my task at hand. I watched film of the Cowboys' defense and tried to exploit their weaknesses. I also took time to mentally prepare for the upcoming events prior to the game itself. There was to be a lot of media as well as encounters with celebrities and former players depending on how you look at it. I knew most of the attention was going to be about the history with Brad and myself at Florida. But before I could deal with Brad, I first had to deal with Kendra.

Ever since Kendra had broken up with her ex-boyfriend Rick, she and I started to get closer than before. At first, it was awkward being around her when I first joined the team. Now, it was becoming awkward, but in a good way.
To say that I had a small crush on her in the times we hung out is a bit of an understatement. The feelings I had for her seemed to grow and grow.

Try as I might, I could no longer deny that I was in love with her and wanted to see if Kendra was thinking the same thing. The problem though was when was the right time to ask and see and where could I take her. I knew attention would be on us if I was seen out in public. Then, it occurred to me.

Kendra

On the Wednesday of the week before we left for the Super Bowl, I was walking out of the office having finished the work schedule for the day. I passed by the practice field where the team was practicing. I figured it would be a great idea to check on them and see what they were doing.

I watched a few of them practice and saw Gordon getting reps in at quarterback. My heart kept beating when I saw him in uniform. He looked sexy in that uniform. Sure, I always loved him even in regular clothes. But, him as a football player living out his dream was something that was recapturing my heart again. I just wish I had the courage to tell him that.

As soon as practice was done, the players walked towards the gate and saw me. Each of them greeted me with some kind of compliment or suggestion.

"Hi Mrs. Secretary, m'am," Jermaine said.

"Looking cute today," Quincy added.

"Better keep your quarterback in line," Sammy Jimenez remarked.

I chuckled at the last one because that was what I hoped to do although I didn't know how Sammy figured it out. Gordon came and saw me.

"Hey," I asked. "Can I have your autograph?"

"To whom may I ask is the recipient?" Gordon replied.

Deciding to be more alluring, I figured it would be time to flirt with Gordon.  "Well, there's this girl who's a really big fan of yours and she's kind of shy to ask."

"Oh. She doesn't need to be afraid. I can sign one for her."

"Great."

"On one condition."
