Chapter 40:

The Truth

ANG problema sa mga inaakusa ni Hank sa kanya ay madami roon ang hindi pa nakukumpirma.

At ang problema sa binitawang testimonya ni Kuya Sandro noon ay may bahid din ng galit at makasariling konklusyon nito sa mga nangyari.

And Blair has been blaming herself because when the case started... siya mismo ay nalilito sa kung ano talagang nangyari noon.

She can't testify because... she doesn't know what to say.

Na siya ang biktima pero malabo lahat ang nangyari. Walang maniniwala na hindi niya matandaan. Walang maniniwala na wala siyang maaalala.

Because if she really was the victim, she should have never forgotten.

But Dra. Alicante diagnosed that she subconsciously suppressed the memories because it was traumatic. Added the fact that she was drugged heavily that night, it could have affected a part of her brain that distorted her memories that time.

Alessandro acted on fury and haste. When she asked for help, she just wanted to be kept secured and get justice for whatever was done to her unwillingly.

Hindi naman niya alam na papatayin ng kapatid niya sina Wade! Ni hindi niya pa alam noon na lider ng isang sindikato si Alessandro Delos Santos!

Hanggang ngayon, isa ito sa mga dahilan kaya siya nagpapagamot. Pinipilit ni Blair na halukayin ang totoong nangyari.

Kuya Sandro claimed she was gang raped because of her physical state that night. Halos wala daw siyang suot at puno ng galos at pasa ang katawan.

Blair can't remember what truly happened. All she remembers, she got to run. To run fast... If she was raped, she does not know!

But those men did horrible things to her, that's for sure!

"Sometimes, I... I think I deserve it... Because I did seduce them and let them think na may pag-asa sila sa akin... Pero g-gusto ko lang silang paglaruan that time..."

"Do you know Wade's friends, Blair?" mahinanong tanong ni Dra. Alicante.

Marahan siyang tumango. "They were my schoolmates back in high school. They bullied Jack and harassed me before... G-Gusto ko lang silang bawian. It's more of a power tripping on my part...

"I let them think that I'm interested to be their girl. Yes, I intentionally flirted with them. But what I want was for them to fall and then, I would crash their feelings after...

"Pero tumigil din ako agad dahil may iba pa 'kong iniisip niyon. That time, bigla na lang na may family tradition na kailangan kong pakasalan si Jack. Kasabay niyon, ang Papa ko na pilit nanghihingi ng tawad sa akin dahil may taning na ang buhay niya..."

Napapikit siya at nasabunot ang buhok. "That was 2007, doktora. Everything is happening at once. Na kailangan kong sabihan si Jack na bumalik na lang next year sa sagot ko kung papayag ako sa tradisyon... Then, Papa died..."

"Breathe, Blair..."

Naghabol siya ng hangin at napatingin sa salamin. It's two-way mirror behind. Nakita niya ang sarili pero alam niyang may tao sa likod niyon.
